Imperator To CK2 Converter

Beschreibung
I:R To CK2 Converter

Welcome to the I:R to CK2 Converter project! The goal of this project is to allow a Imperator: Rome campaign to be transferred and continued in Crusader Kings II, so you may continue your game uninterrupted, from 304BCE to 1453AD, and further using our other converters to Europa Universalis 4, Victoria 2 and Hearts of Iron 4.

Running a continuous campaign from Imperator: Rome all the way to HoI4 is called running a mega-campaign.

Converter is not a mod - it is a mod producing application (program, software)
  • This converter currently supports I:R 1.3-2.0+ and CK2 3.3. CK2 DLCs are optional.
  • This mod is not intended to be enabled in game. It is only a delivery vehicle for the converter's download link.
  • You can also download the converter directly from our forums thread[forum.paradoxplaza.com] or from Github.

Setting up the converter.
To set up the converter, you’ll need to follow the steps below:
  1. Subscribe to the this mod.
  2. If the mod does not immediately begin downloading, you may need to start CK2 launcher to trigger the download.
  3. Go to your mod folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\859580\2646140574, or elsewhere if you moved your steam library)
  4. Inside it find and open downloadLink.txt.
  5. Within that file is a direct link to the converter's download location. Copy the link and paste it into a browser to download it.
  6. Unzip the downloaded converter to a new folder by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract All…
  7. Finally, go to the extracted converter's directory and fire it up by running ConverterFrontend.exe.

If you downloaded the converter directly from forums or github, you only need to execute steps 6 and 7.

How does it work?
Every converter has a detailed documentation available at its wiki page[imperator.paradoxwikis.com].
Very generally, it takes your Imperator: Rome saved game and converts it into a Crusader Kings 2 mod.
You then have to enable that mod when starting CK2 launcher.

Troubleshooting

We welcome any questions and will gladly help you out if you hit a problem.

When seeking help, discussing conversion issues or problems, or if you simply need answers to your questions, come to our Paradox forum release thread[forum.paradoxplaza.com].

To resolve issues we will always need your conversion's log.txt. You can find it in your converter's folder after conversion. Upload your log.txt to the release thread, along with a detailed description of your problem. We may need additional data like your running savegame or mods used, which you can also upload to the forums directly.

Keep in mind Steam discussion below is not suited to troubleshooting as you cannot upload files we need.

Suggestions / Development

We are always open to suggestions on improving our converters. Best place for that is our development thread[forum.paradoxplaza.com].

And thanks to the When The World Stopped Making Sense (WtWSMS)[ck2.paradoxwikis.com] mod team for allowing the converter to use their content, their mod can be found either on Steam or on their forum thread[forum.paradoxplaza.com]

Any plans to make a Imperator to EU4(with Extended timeline) converter?

I'm still working on the Rise of Islam, but the east-west Christian church split is now generated for save files converted after 450 AD (or when manually setting the year to be after 450 AD using the custom date option)

It was mentioned somewhere here in the comments that youre planning on implementing the rise of Islam and the east west church split. Is that included now?

@cpimentel ~PdS~ It is possible, but it'll be tedious. First you need to run the converter and use the Custom Date setting to convert to 769.1.1, the date of CK2's earliest bookmark. Then after the converter finishes running, go into the Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\(your_mod_name)\history\provinces directory and delete all provinces that aren't apart Ptolemaic Egypt. Likewise go into the history\titles folder and delete all titles that aren't apart of your realm, excluding baronies. Finally, you need to go into common\landed_titles and open titlesDejure.txt, which contains the dejure setup. Delete all entries in there which don't relate to your Ptolemaic Egypt and you should just have a vanilla CK2 game with your Ptolemaic Kingdom added to it.

A question: if i only want to export my country from Imperator to CK2, rather than all the other tages/countries/kingdoms unto an existing CK2 bookmark can that be done?

I really just want to play ptolemaic egypt @ early start date XD

@Isidor_von_Edelsburg: The converter is indeed fully compatible with Invictus, including with its map expansions and new religions

@Briist: Dictatorships currently convert as Merchant Republics by default, but if you'd like to convert them to another government form, such as Imperial, you can change it in the governmentConversion.txt file in the ImperatorToCK2 folder

I know republics convert to mechant republics, Monarchies to feudal and Empires to Imperial but how do dictatorships convert?
