Switch Kit DE/AT

Deskripsi
True-to-scale switches and switch modules of DB/DR/DRG/ÖBB/BBÖ.

A modular system for the construction of true-to-scale switch routes without kinks and bumps - exclusively with switch types from the original! Guessing angles and radii is a thing of the past. Grading is largely unnecessary. As an additional feature, there is a 'station track' for adjusted speed.

IMPORTANT notes:

- The 'station track' is a special track type providing realistic speeds (±10% tolerance) at train stations and switches, which are lower than with vanilla tracks. It is the default setting of this mod. If not desired, please change the selection at the start of construction! Once laid 'station tracks' must be manually changed or removed before uninstalling this mod if the 'Track Builder' mod is not installed as well.
- The prototype differentiates between switches with curved or straight frog. Better driving characteristics and less attrition are faced with increased space requirements. If the frog is straight, the branch ends in a short straight that begins in front of the frog. At certain curve modules, this difference causes an asymmetry to be considered during installation. The mouse cursor is at the point of the switch. From there always build in the same direction, except for opposed switches! The switches 140 1:7, 150 1:7.5, 190 1:9, 300 1:14, 500 1:14 and 760 1:18.5 have straight frogs. Different curve radii allow different maximum speeds in the branch. Due to the lack of superelevation, these are usually lower than on main tracks. The standard switch is the 190 1:9, partially replaced by 300 1:9. The 500 1:12 is common for 60 km/h. 300 1:14 is a modern special switch for small track spacings. 190 1:6.6 and 500 1:9/1:12 are converted switches; the latter is used together with a 1:9 diamond for branch-offs. Switches with radii below 190 m are no longer used regularly in era C.
- All modules for the respective switch design are coordinated with one another. The dimensions are not arbitrary, but result from the geometry. Please be sure to pay attention to the laying scheme (PDF) in the 'documents' directory! Further information is also available as tooltips in the 'Track Constructions' 'Settings' dialog: Simply touch the corresponding elements with the mouse cursor!
- To create track ladders, the complete switches are provided with an entry segment that ensures the correct track spacing. For other purposes, a universal 'short entry' which is not compatible with the geometric scheme can also be used. Switches without entry segment must be constructed by separate parts.
- In the basic setting, loose and rigid track modules are combined with each other. Loose modules behave like normal tracks and can be changed using the 'magic wand', while rigid modules behave similarly to station modules, show a white frame when clicked and can be changed via the 'Track Constructions' dialog. For advantages and disadvantages, see 'Known issues'. By subsequently unlocking, all fixed track modules can be irreversibly converted into loose ones. Some modules are not available in rigid because they lack advantages.
- For exceptional installation on inclines and declines, switches can be tilted completely around the transverse axis of the through route. Inclination changes within switches are neither prototypical nor possible. Rounded inclination changes in intermediate tracks can only be created conventionally or with the 'Track Builder' mod.
- Crossovers can be created either by crossing over loose tracks or using the crossover modules. The latter must be unlocked before converting to double slip switches. These are generated by the main program and not always prototypical. Also, some crossover variants do not exist in the original, see technical literature. Crossovers slimmer than 1:9 are not possible in the game.
- Double track connections ('scissors crossovers') can sometimes cause problems. Switches and crossovers can overlap in the prototype, but this is only partly possible in the game. This can be remedied if using rigid switch modules with a straight frog - usually 190 1:9 - and a rigid crossover with the 'Short switch ends' option. In the case of switches with a curved frog, however, all elements of the track connection, including the switches, must be built from loose modules. If everything fails: Remove again, change the building order and reinsert cross links or fit them in by conventional track laying.
- Larger gaps or incorrect track spacing should be checked for wrong module selection or installation. Gaps caused by offset at parallel branches are not a bug, but serve to ensure correct track spacing. The closure is done by conventional track laying.
- Tracks from the switch kit should only be used exceptionally for the construction of main tracks or long station tracks. The mod 'Track Builder' is more suitable for this.

Known issues:

- The AI always tries to create transition curves, which is a problem with switches. Loose track modules are subsequently slightly bent and 'welded', e.g. if a catenary or level crossings are added. As a compromise, some modules of this mod are rigidly designed - similar to station modules -, but along which no track objects like signals can be attached. These modules cannot be used as parts of switches or crossovers. As a workaround, the deformation of loose modules by the AI can be prevented by 'clamping' between rigid modules.
- Track spacings except multiples of 5 m are not provided in the game and could cause issues, especially below 5 m. However, such a feature was built in experimentally. If you are unsure, just leave the default value! ;-)
- Switches without an entry segment cannot be installed point to point.
- At level crossings bumps appear in the track, if the street has been built first.
- Individual settings are not taken into account when calculating the costs.

Alles gut.

Also ich merke keinen Unterschied.

:wrench:
WernerK  [pembuat] 29 Feb 2024 @ 5:27am
@Gernhart Reinorgeln: Fragen darfst du schon ... :steamhappy: aber was möchtest du denn?

Sehr cool!
