Description
Cross Timbers by icantthinkofaname

Good morning y'all! Today, I bring you Cross Timbers. Based off of the Cross Timbers ecological region in the Texoma region of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, this map is my attempt to bring that to (in-game) life.

Around the map are numerous small streams and rivers, lakes, mountains, and big state parks. The mountains and larger hills in the north of the map are based off the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma, just north of around Ardmore. Dense forests cover that area as they do in real life. The main city area is kind of a mix between Gainesville in terms of terrain layout and Denton, Texas with the roads and the malfunction junction every American city has, which is showcased in the preview pics as the weird interchange that converges into one 5-way-intersection. The large lake in the east-southeast corner of the map is (at least supposed to be) based off of numerous lakes around North Texas including Lake Weatherford, Lake Ray Roberts, and Lake Lewisville. Generally the map is pretty hilly(ish) as well, inspired a bit by areas such as Decatur and Mineral Wells. Unlike most highways in TX, I decided to omit the frontage roads here since it's also an Oklahoma map and also because they're kind of a waste of time tbh.

MASS TRANSIT IS ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED FOR THIS MAP TO FUNCTION PROPERLY!!!!! A one click collection for other items needed for full aesthetics is also available, almost exclusively just trees. HOWEVER, there are 2 mods needed to my knowledge, Unlimited Trees (the map has around 400-500k trees, can't remember the exact number) and Unlimited Outside Connections (admittedly not too sure about this but better safe than sorry)

The theme used here is once again the FANTASTIC Oklahoma Summer theme by SanditeSpartan117, and all images were taken with Relight with the time set to noon from the last picture. Long/lat settings were set to default, and no LUT was used.

If you like this map or just feel like being nice, please give this map a thumbs up! Doing so gets it more exposure so other people can enjoy the map too if they'd like (also for if someone wants to review it on their YouTube show haha)

Thank y'all and have a good day! :D
