What are SHiFT codes

For the view people that don't know what SHiFT codes are these are used get Golden Keys mostly to open the chest in Sanctuary to get loot. Gearbox posts these on the social channels mostly for special events mostly. Good to know is that you need a SHiFT account [shift.gearboxsoftware.com] to activate the codes!

You can redeem keys via the following options

Borderlands Website (Shift > Redeem Code)
In-Game via the Social Menu

Once you've redeemed your SHiFT codes, they will show up in your mail box in the game. So, head to your social menu to retrieve them.

Addendum on my second sentence below: according to another guide, the first code for 3 golden keys (9XCBT-WBXFR-5TRWJ-JJJ33-TX53Z) is the one that is only 1 key.

Yep, I was going to say the same as Croooc here that the second one for golden keys cannot be redeemed. Also, I think one of the codes for 3 keys must have been only 1, because after redeeming all of them (minus the aforementioned defunct one), I got 8 keys instead of 10. Lastly, it looks like the code offered by Xanthas has already expired, so no need to add that one to the guide.
