Like my items guide, this is just something I threw together as I played the game. If there are any corrections or additions that you think this needs, just leave a comment below.

I don't know most of the official names of any of these monsters so I just came up with any descriptor I could. If you know the official names, let me know in the comments. I do know that you can find out a monster's name if it kills you, but I don't really want to go around getting killed by every enemy in the game.

When you're in the tall green grass, you may have a harder time seeing enemies, but enemies can't see you either, so you're considered hidden. You can fire from within the grass to kill any enemies undetected.

Most enemies can detect you through walls. If you hear their signature noise, that means they're activated and are probably coming for you. This is something you just have to get used to from playing the game.

You can click any of these pictures to enlarge them for a better view.
Normal Melee Monsters
These monsters run into you to hit you and do damage.

Imp: The most basic enemy, and most likely the first enemy you'll be seeing in this game. Runs up to you and bites you. Does a half heart of damage per hit. You can tell it's targeted you because you'll hear a little 8 bit "screech" sound like the tires squealing from an NES racing game. It can usually detect you through walls, so if you hear the screech, be ready to see it coming. They tend to stop and pause upon making new moves or losing sight of you. Aside from their dangerousness, they're kind of cute.

Snakeworm: The sneakiest of monsters. They are big pink wormy snake creatures that lay calmly in big clumps of pink bushes, making them extremely hard to spot, but once you run up to them, they bite you, and have a high chance of poisoning you on a bite which will then do more damage. They will also bite you multiple times doing more damage unless you kill them immediately. Even if a silver life absorbs the bite damage, you can still be poisoned. If you get close enough to them without being quite in attack range they'll make extra noises, but they might still lunge at you if you stand too close to them for too long.

Can you see the snake? It IS visible, if you know where to look. You might not be able to see it, but the best way to tell anyway is just to see that there's a clump of the pink bushes like this. When there is, there is ALWAYS a snake in it, so you can just fire into the bushes. Once you get the hang of it, you'll start being able to spot them easier, it just takes practice. Be warned that in later levels, there may be snakes in the tall green grass. Sometimes they make quiet "blblbl" sort of noises if you're close to them.

Crawler: Same as the imp, except can cover itself with its big spidery arms to block bullets. Does a half heart of damage per hit. Makes a similar screeching sound to the one the imp does when it finds you. My preferred way to kill these guys is just engage in a staring contest while they block with their arms, and fire as soon as they unblock. Sometimes they'll reblock quickly, so you just have to keep it up. An alternate tactic from the comments recommends throwing a bomb in front of them, and either blowing it up or just shooting the bomb, should wipe them out easily, but that's only if you have a good supply of bombs (I always prefer to use bombs to blow up vending machines for a few extra coins, but you can choose for yourself, that's the magic of video games!).

Bomb Bug: Looks like a cluster of chunks of something, but very quickly runs up to you and explodes either on contact with you, or when you kill it. They do not move if they can't see you. Can blow up rocks or vending machines that it's nearby, but really it's more important that you destroy it before it blows up on you. Will do 1 heart of damage. And yes, on this screenshot I took of it, it did blow up on me. You do not want them getting this close. I hate these guys.

Wasp: Flies around, then flies up to you and stings you. You can usually hear them buzzing through walls. Its sting can poison you. They don't stop upon turning corners, as imps do, they just keep flying and fast, making them especially scary and dangerous.

Charger: Armored enemy with spikes on the top of its shell, that rears back and then charges at you after spotting you. Its top and front shell is completely bullet proof, so its only weak spot is in the rear, that big pink spot. Its charge path can have a slight curve to it towards you, so make sure you're way out of the way and keep moving. A couple of very rare times I was able to kill one by shooting its center bottom (between the bottom of its legs) at the apex of it being reared back, but you're not supposed to be able to do that. Still, the best tactic is to wait for it to charge, then circle around behind it as it slams into a wall, and shoot its unarmored pink rear section. Only takes one bullet to kill. Alternatively, if you can spare a bomb, throw a bomb in its path, and try to shoot the bomb as the charger runs into its path. Rockets and homing bombs work very well too. If it hits you, it can make you drop the item in your inventory (you'll have to pick it up again). Also, it will kill any enemy it charges through, which could be helpful at least on accident. It will also break rocks if it runs into them a couple times. Here's one in mid charge:

Flying Bomb Bug: Bomb bugs but they hover and float towards you. Probably one of the most dangerous enemies in the game. Usually shows up around 7 or 8, apparently can show up as early as level 6. Makes the same screeching sounds as a bomb bug.

Egg Clusters: Clusters of bombs that apparently just sit there until disturbed, then they explode. They're basically big purple stationary clusters. Sometimes I call these "bomb trees." Shoot these from a distance and they'll explode, problem solved.

Turrets
Any gun turret can be used to kill other monsters, if the monster walks in the path of the turret's gunfire.

Gun Turret: Targets you and shoots you. Its weak spot is the green box (aka power box) on the ground nearby. Sometimes the green box is behind it (take note that depending on the lighting, the green box will look yellow), and you just have to take your chances. Best to deal with these after clearing the room of other monsters, if you can. You can also try throwing bombs at them if you're good at that. The way I deal with these is I hide behind a wall and poke out just a sliver so I can see their power box, and then shoot whatever part of it that I can hit. Only takes one hit to the power box to kill them.

(This screencap is actually of a big turret but never mind that for now, the tactic is still the same.)

Big Turret: It's like a regular turret, but has a bigger gun box, and it fires at a faster rate.

Rocket Turret: A turret that fires rockets. It's turret box is bigger and kind of has a red glow. Look out for this, because even if it fires a rocket past you, the explosion effect lingers and you can back up into it before it's completely faded. Apparently you can destroy its rockets, but the chances of you being able to shoot a rocket out of mid air are insanely low.

Mortar Turret/Bomb Turret: Huge turret that lobs bombs at you, its bombs work the same as yours, they blow up after a second or two, or on contact with you. Tactics are the same, just shoot the green power box, one hit will blow it up. You can blow up its bombs by shooting them, but good luck having that kind of aim.

Slowing Turret: It shoots out a big white beam that slows your movement to a crawl. Whenever you see this, it should be your highest priority target. Breaking line of sight will cut off the beam, but it will attach the beam as soon as you're in sight again.

Flying Turret: You'll start seeing these around stage 6. Their power box is on the underside of them, but these things move so fast, they might be even more annoying than the bomber bugs. One important tip for hitting their power box is once you see them and start shooting them, they usually start descending in altitude, so you have to lead your shots downwards (by "lead them" I mean try to aim ahead of where they're going to move, so they're moving INTO your path of gunfire). Alternatively, if you slap a mine halfway up a wall around a corner and get the turret to fly near it, it'll blow up and kill the turret, which is pretty nice.

Crawling Turret: A gun turret that crawls towards you. Just shoot its power box.

Leech Turret: Behaves like a slowing turret, excpet its beam damages you every couple of seconds that it's locked onto you, and possibly can poison you. It has two weak spots to the left and right of its barrel. When you hit one, it will be stunned for a second.

Bloodsucker: During the pre-release alpha, they got rid of this and replaced it with the leech turret. I'll keep this entry for posterity. The range on these things is INSANE. Not a traditional turret, but I put it here because it's a stationary monster, like a turret. As soon as it sees you, it fires a tongue that attaches to you and will consistently do damage, making this a high priority threat. It also has a chance to poison you (though probably a lower chance than something like a snake or a bug). When you shoot it once, it'll break the tongue and stun it. Shoot it again to finish it off (may take a couple more shots to really do it). By the time you are facing these, you should have over 10 spare bullets. If not, buy some. You'll be needing them. Breaking line of sight will break off the tongue, but it will attach the tongue again right away once you're in sight of it. You can try to shoot it from just around a corner or behind a rock, but be careful.

Giant Rocket Turret, AKA The Big Turret: Has no power box weak point. Instead there will be a big cabinet sized generator that you have to find and push the use key on its switch, switching it off and blowing up the turret. You should be able to hide behind its generator, but don't hide too close because its rockest blast radius can still hit you from the other side.

Security Cam: Harmless, they just hang on walls, but they should spit out a coin if you shoot them.

Bosses
If the game is patched after 2015 then boss strategies may be subject to change.

The Turret Boss - Level 4 Boss: A big turret monster, has multiple turrets, fires bullets and can even fire rockets. It also has multiple green power boxes that rotate around its body. The power boxes take one shot to destroy, and the boss has 4 boxes around its body. Once you shoot all of them, it's destroyed, and coins spray everywhere and happy music plays.

Keep in mind that there's always a slowing turret in the room, either to the left or right. I recommend charging directly towards it and blasting its power box. Getting as close as you can should help your aim. As soon as it's dead, start circling the boss from behind the pillars. You'll want to circle in both directions at times to make sure you can get a shot at its power boxes.

VIDEO OF STAGE 4 TURRET BOSS:

Pretty simple, just circle strafe around it shooting the green power boxes. After taking out a few, you'll probably have to circle strafe in the other direction to get a good shot. Here's a video of a full playthrough, you can skip ahead to the end of stage 4 to find the boss fight. The stage 4 boss fight is at 22:35.

Level 8 Boss: The end of the game, here. A big room with tons of imps, many bomb trees, several turrets, and in the center is a huge box with a big brain creature sitting on top of it that throws homing bombs about once every 3 or 4 seconds.

VIDEO OF THE FINAL BOSS FIGHT:

You'll have to skip to the end yourself, but it's within the last minute of this video, so it's not too hard to find, but specifically it's at 50:20 in this video.

Bring lots of reserve bullets, and stay in the doorway and snipe everything you can see, including those big cluster bomb tree things, and all the turrets you can. When you've sniped everything, rush in. The big boss will start throwing bombs at you, so keep running. Behind him is usually a poison turret, throw one of your own bombs at it, or shoot a rocket, or whatever you can manage.

When the room is clear, keep running, and hit the 3 switches on the 3 big generators that connect to the central mainframe, but don't linger too long at the switch making sure it's flipped, because then a bomb will come for you. When you hit a switch you'll hear a big buzz sound to let you know it's flipped. When all 3 are flipped, the big boss in the middle will explode, any remaining enemies or turrets will be killed, and you go up to the screen on the central mainframe and hit "reset." You win, and get 5,000 gold deposited into your bank immediately to use for future playthroughs, good job!

I think those tractor beams are turrets to shoot, best to destroy those first. It has been a bunch of years though.

The turret boss fires a tractor beam that makes strafing useless.

Goodness gracious, comments here are tripping me out. But yes. The level 4 boss is in the bosses section of this guide. :3

I don't blame anyone for missing it. This game is confusing, sometimes.

I got killed by a flying bomb bug and the death screen says I died from my own rocket.

Gold potions are always good for that final boss fight. :3

Still works :D It doesn't make you invincible but it's fairly good cover, I kept darting out and back in to draw enemies towards me before finally going out and gunning down the turrets. Still took all three of my gold potions to survive though. Thanks for your help! :) (Also, I refused to use the bank so I got the self-made winner achievement too! Yay :D)
