A growing number of "Game Guide" sites are appearing on the web that simply harvest guides from Steam using bots, Ads are then placed alongside the guides and site owner then profits from the hard work of others. Indiefaq, Steamlists, Steamah & Steamsolo are the biggest culprits, please do not support these content stealing cretins.
Achievement Guide (Notes).
Island Farmer - Jigsaw Puzzle has a total of 20 Steam achievements with one achievement earned for completing each of the 20 levels within the game. Completion time is around 2 to 3 hours.

(PLEASE NOTE, 2nd Dec 2021, 4 new achievements have been added to the game, it is not currently possible to unlock these achievements. The Dev is rather generously adding 4 new levels to the game for free. Once these 4 levels go live you will be able to unlock the new achievements by completing the new levels, with one achievement earned for completing each new level.)

No achievements are missable, once a level has been completed, the next is unlocked and any level can be replayed at any time.

To be fair given the inclusion of the "Preview" button in game, there is little need for an achievement guide for this game. I could post a video walkthrough, but by the time you watched it, it would have been quicker to use the preview button.

There is also little point to screenshots due to an in-game mechanic. When sections of the island are completed the buildings, trees and crops, etc grow in size, as such the completed map looks different to a map in progress and would only serve to confuse, again the in game preview button will serve you better.

Please note that, as of the time of writing (13th Oct 2021), Island Farmer - Jigsaw Puzzle is currently "profile limited" so achievements will not yet count towards profile totals, I'm somewhat unsure of the process, but given the positive reviews, it should only be a matter of time until they count towards profile totals.
Game Guide.
So, what's the point of this guide if the game doesn't need one, well to be fair this is more for people considering buying the game, wondering what it's like or achievement hunters wondering what they are getting into.

Island Farmer - Jigsaw Puzzle has a total of 20 levels, each larger, or more complex than the last comprising of an island farm broken down into blocks. At the start of each level the blocks are scrambled and your task to complete the level, is to put the island farm back together in the way that you were shown at the start of the level. Simples.

MAIN MENU

  • The "Start" button will load the first level, or the last level you left off at.

  • The "Islands" button will bring up a list of all 20 islands (which you can scroll through with the slider bar below them). From here you can select which level you want to play, bearing in mind that you can only play levels that you have previously unlocked.

There is also a "Restart Islands" button which will reset all levels back to new game fresh.

The "Back" button will take you back to the main menu.

  • The "Options" button has the usual fare, there is also a section labelled "Sparkle For Correct Blocks", with options for Off, Soft and Normal.

This sets how blocks act when they are placed in the correct location and is by default on Normal. I suppose if you wanted an additional challenge, you could set it to off and as normal is already fairly unobtrusive, I see little point using Soft.

IN GAME

When in game there are 6 buttons at the top centre of the screen and an additional button in the top left.

The top left button is the pause menu, (Esc/Space does nothing). At the pause menu, you can exit to the main menu, change level using the level select and on the centre right of the screen is a "Restart" button. Clicking this button will reset the current level to the beginning (unlike the "Restart Islands" button in the Island select screen in the main menu which will reset/wipe all islands).

Why do you need a restart button?, well you can't break a level or block yourself in a corner, nor anything else that would force you to restart a level. If however you abandon a level for whatever reason and return at a later time, you will start off exactly at the point you left, and so if you want to start a level from the beginning, this is the button you will need to do so.

The buttons at the top centre are as follows, left to right.

  • The first button randomises the location of the remaining blocks that are in the incorrect location. Out of curiosity, I spammed this button wondering if you complete a level by constantly randomizing the blocks, sadly, or perhaps for the best, you cannot. Could be useful if you have been sat starting at the screen for a while trying to find a specific block.

  • The second button rotates the screen 90 degrees to the left. On certain levels you will need this as blocks on some maps can be obstructed by mountains or buildings.

  • The third button centres the camera on the middle of the island. On larger maps you will need to move the camera around (by right clicking with the mouse cursor, only works on land and not sea), and if you quickly want to snap to the centre you can use this button and as the RMB camera movement can get a bit janky, you may well end up using this.

  • The fourth button rotates the camera 90 degrees right.

  • The fifth button is by far the most useful. Pressing this button will enable a semi-transparent overlay on the map covering the blocks placed in the incorrect position and show you what block should be there.

The overlay is turned on and off which each click of the button and you will need to turn it off to be able to move blocks around.

This is very useful if your mind has gone blank or the level won't end and you can't see what you have missed.

    An example of it off...

    Then on...

  • The final button details the controls...

Just checked and there are only 20 levels in the game. An update is obviously coming adding 4 new levels, will be curious to see if it is free or not. Given it's only 4 levels I can't see them charging for it

EGBizarro, the game has either been updated since I created this guide or there is a DLC pack about to be released.

Store page says 20 levels. A friend and I passed level 20. It went to level 1. There are 24 achievements. The last four being for levels 21, 22, 23, and 14. Thought?
