Madness Difficulty Unlocker

How to install a mod that unlocks madness difficulty for the Arena and Story by default.

Preamble

Yes, Project Nexus is fun, but it could be better. After a while, the combat feels like a slog-- why can't it be like the animations?

It can be: Madness difficulty increases the damage both you and enemies receive, but it's locked until you complete a mission or arena checkpoint first. This changes that. Play on Fun-Mode™ the first time, every time.

Install

Download the latest version from https://gamebanana.com/mods/326029

1. Navigate to...

\steamapps\common\Madness Project Nexus 2\Madness Project Nexus_Data\Managed

2. Rename the "Assembly-CSharp.dll" inside of "Managed" to "Assembly-CSharp.dll.bak"

3. Copy the provided "Assembly-CSharp.dll" into the "Managed" directory

It's that easy.

If you have issues, restore from your backup file.

Warning: this will break every time the game updates. There's no way for me to fix this, but updating the mod should be easy whenever it the game does update.

im very lazy, but updating the mod is actually very easy
so easy, in fact, that there are step by step instructions on how to do so yourself in the latest version; takes like 2 minutes lol... it takes longer for me to update my game, repack the gamebanana upload, and then update gamebanana

I know the game has gotten a couple of updates rather rapidly which would obviously complicate the process and is almost certainly why another update hasn't been put out yet, but are updates to this still planned? It's a very nice quality of life mod and I'd hate to see it end up abandoned so soon into the game's lifespan.

Thank you very much, I'm really not sure why the developers chose to lock it, it's not fun having to click an ATP soldat to death on "Tough". The most infuriating part is that you have to unlock "Madness" for each new imprint on your arena character,and that's just stupid really.
