Bosses HATE to leave their lair. So, you can play funny doors with them: walk just barely in, wait for them to approach, shoot them/stab them/throw a bomb/insult their mother once, then walk out and close the door before they can attack. Sometimes, there's an interior door that lets you even do this while inside the building, and the trick keeps working even if the door gets destroyed. They won't walk through the door frame, but they will attack through it, so be careful.
Obviously don't do this if you think there's other hunters around; they'll probably hear the door opening and the boss trying to attack you, and shoot you in the back.
1. "Balancing" build under your partner its not always a good idea (taking rifle if partner have shotgun), if you trying to fight on the distance, it might bring you to situation 1vs2 (even if partner with shotgun have uppercut he still not in the good position to fight on the long range), same for reverse situation, you trying melee push enemy team with shotguns, having only one shotgun greatly reduce your chances to survive. So my point if you play with randoms, the best solution will be not to balance "ranges", but use the build to work great with your partner/partners and impose to enemies gunfight which is profitable for you
2.Butcher is not the easiest boss at all. He can be killed really simple (sticky, explosions, poison, bombs etc.) but in case if dont have any of things to kill him even the axe, that will be a real pain and he becomes the most difficult boss to be taken.
