The Basics of Each Pet Mount in Spelunky 2

This is the basics of every mount (excluding the mech) summarized in this one guide for your viewing pleasure!

The Turkey!

Where to find it!
Anywhere from 1-2 to 1-3 And in the jungle from 2-1 to 2-4 or in shops

How It Acts:

Taming it:
When untamed the turkey will randomly walk left and right and not walk off of edges.
to tame the turkey you will need to jump on it and When taming The Turkey it will run
left and right rapidly (even off ledges) Until you see red hearts which means you tamed it!
When tamed it'll be still waiting for you to put in an input.

Attacking and Movement:
When it attacks it will headbutt one tile in front of you kind of like your whip, And it also has a
double jump and can glide like the cape if you hold down the jump button. Another thing to
note is that the turkey makes you 2 blocks tall but it crouches down so you can still fit in 1 block spaces. (and since it's like the cape you can float through spikes)



Cooking The Turkey
If the turkey gets exposed to any fire/explosion it will turn
into a cooked turkey! If you touch it you'll gain 1 hp.








Yang The Turkey Gatherer
when your In the Dwelling and you see turkeys that let's you know yang is in that level.
I won't go too deep into Yang's AI but he's a traveling merchant that wants to collect 3 turkey's.
When you first see him he will already have 1 turkey, That means in every level there will be 2
other turkey's each. If you give him the turkeys' he will give you a silver key to his basement, And inside may be crates that can give you random loot, or chests full of riches. If you gave yang the turkeys when you go into Volcana or the jungle you will see yang selling the turkey's somewhere on 2-1. Another thing worth noting is that Yang will instantly anger if he sees a dead turkey (including the cooked turkey!)

The Rock Dog!

Where to find it!
Anywhere in Volcana from 2-1 to 2-4 or in shops

How it Acts

Taming it
The Rock Dog when not tamed will (if your in it's line of sight AKA on the same line of tile)
shoot a fire ball that sets you on fire but only does 1 heart. To tame the Rock Dog
is just like the turkey hop on it and it will rapidly run back and forth BUT!!! it will also
shoot fireballs while doing so so be careful not to tame the rock dog infront of things
that fire shouldn't be shot at!

Attacks and movement
The Rock Dog can also double jump but with no effect after like a hover.
When Tamed you have the choice to make the rock dog shoot a fire projectile
out of it's mouth. While on the Rock Dog, the player is immune to fire damage. However, the player still gets caught on fire and therefore pack items (the jetpack, hoverpack, telepack, and powerpack) still explode if hit by fire!

The Axolotl!!

Where to find it!
Anywhere in 3-1 to 3-4 or in shops

How it Acts

Taming it
The axolotl when not tamed will slowly walk left and right occasionally
and if it sees you it'll act like the rock dog but instead it will shoot a bubble.
When it does shoot the bubble it will trap you all the way until you hit a ceiling
or anything touches you. Also a quick note is, The bubble never does damage
so you can't kill anything and you can only lift items, objects, and enemies in the air.

Attacks and Movement
When Tamed you can control when it shoot's bubbles amd
also when jumping it gets a double jump but if you press the
jump button one more time the axolotl will teleport. And if you were
wondering yes you can tele-frag. The way the teleport works is like
a tele-pack but with a double jump.

The Qilin!

How to get it!
By getting a tablet of destiny (by defeating abzu in the sunken city chain vid below)
you will have to get to world 6 (the alien one)
and find a background doorway in 6-2 that leads
to a ton of ushabti totems and that area is called
the ubshati hall. When in that area find the totem
that matches the description of the tablet of destiny.
When carrying the totem to 6-3 a qilin will pop out all tamed!

How it acts
The simple arsenal for the Qilin is, It has a infinite jump
and can also shoot a fire ball like the rock dog but faster!
Which arguably makes it the best mount in the game.

I don't see any problems. though maybe you should be more specific with the Qilin. He can hover, but the hovering can rise higher. Also, it's the second level of world 6 only.
