Achievements in Multiplayer

A small list of achievements which can be unlocked in Steam Multiplayer matches.

Introduction

Most achievements cannot be unlocked via multiplayer matches on Steam. While there are some exceptions, it is hard to find out which are those exceptions. Since I only ever played multiplayer matches in Civ5, these are the achievements I have currently unlocked. It's not all of the unlockable achievements, but at least it's something. :)

In case you want to achievement hunt with your friends, these are the achievements to go for!

Note

This guide is based on what I have unlocked during multiplayer. I have not explicitly tried every achievement in multiplayer as I simply do not have the time for it. I will continue to expand this list when I unlock new achievements.

Multiplayer Achievements

These are the achievements which you can unlock during a multiplayer match:

• [Vanilla] Last Man Standing - Win any Multiplayer Match.
  
• [Vanilla] Seriously?!? - Have another Civ beat you to completing a Wonder 10 times.
  
• [Vanilla] Dr. Heidegger’s Experiment - Find the Fountain of Youth.
  
• [Vanilla] Raleigh’s Road to Riches - Discover El Dorado.
  
• [Vanilla] I Can Has Nukes? - Drop a Nuke on another Civ.
  
• [G&K] Gad Zeus! - Found a Pantheon.
  
• [G&K] Propheteering - Found a Religion.
  
• [G&K] Sticky Fingers - Use a Spy to steal Technology from a competitor.
  
• [G&K] Junta for Red October - Use a Spy to successfully stage a City-State coup.
  
• [G&K] Smooth Talking - Use a Spy to gain influence with a City-State.
  
• [G&K] Whack a Mole - Find and kill an enemy Spy.
  
• [G&K] Access Denied - Construct the Great Firewall Wonder.
  
• [G&K] Missionary Man - Spread your Religion to an opponent with a Missionary.
  
• [G&K] Holier Than Thou - Become the dominant Religion in an opponent’s Holy City.
  
• [G&K] Indoctrinated! - Lose dominant status in your Holy City to an opponent’s Religion.
  
• [BNW] Greed is Good - Have a city with the Colossus, Petra, a Caravansary, and a Harbor.
  
• [BNW] Soma Tablets for Everyone - Reach a Happiness level of over 100 for your civ.
  
• [BNW] Run 50 Miles and Fight a Battle - As Zulu, have an Impi earn all of the special promotions.

Other suggested achievements

These achievements are suggested by other Steam users. They might work, but I have not tested them personally. At least, they might be worth a try. :)

• [Vanilla] Tomb Raider - Pillage gold from an Egyptian city with a burial tomb in it.
  
• [G&K] We are Family - Become the dominant religion in every capital city on a standard-size or larger map.
  
• [BNW] Raiders of the Lost Ark - Have your American Archaeologist extract an Artifact from Egypt with a German Archaeologist within 2 tiles.

The achievement "Gimme your lunch money" works on multiplayer.

Where's the Biathalon? works. Interestingly it was an AI Denmark, but I got the achievement.

Raiders of the Lost Ark works in multiplayer. I tried it myself in a hotseat game, got the achievement.

i just finished a hotseat multiplayer and didn't get the last man standing achievement anyone know why?

Holy Father (select the Papal Primacy belief and ally with 12 city states) is possible in multiplayer.

Thank you Dirk, I did unlock "Run 50 Miles and Fight a Battle" achievement as well last week over Steam multiplayer. I have added it to the "official" list. :)
