Combat character

Since I have seen a lot of people asking how to setup the character we will use in combat...

Display Character

The character we will use in map.

Keyboard

Press ESC to open menu

The character we will use in Map will be marked with a blue flag in the Menu (Left side of the screen).
To change it Press F

Xbox Controller

Press Menu to open menu

The character we will use in Map will be marked with a blue flag in the Menu (Left side of the screen).
To change it Press X

Combat character

You can select any character to be your combat character. It can be different from the display character.

Keyboard

Press ESC to open Menu
Press E to Edit Party

Pass cursor over the character you want to use in combat
Press F to confirm
If the character has the pink flag on it, means it was done correctly.


Xbox Controller

Press Menu button to open Menu
Press RB to Edit Party

Select the character you want to use in combat with the D pad, then
Press X to confirm
If the character has the pink flag on it, means it was done correctly.

Changing character in combat

Your combat party only has 4 slots, the rest of characters will be in the reserve. You can change character while in combat. Note: changing combat character will reset at the end of the combat.

Keyboard

While in combat Hold ALT, then press 1/2/3/4 (each character has a slot with a number).


You can also change combat characters from reserve (even when character is down) using Menu

Press ESC to open Menu

Left click on Edit
Click on the reserve character, it will glow blue, then click on character we will change. If done correctly, it will display like this:

While in combat Hold LB, then press D pad (the order is the same in the D pad direction).

Using the D pad, select Edit, Press A to confirm.
Using D pad select the reserve character, then press A, it will glow blue, then select the character we will change, press A to confirm. If done correctly, it will display like this:

Thanks a lot for the miniguide, i would expand it with the doom's comment though as some "global and 1 combat only switching" 2 section split or smth. but that's up to you

You can also hot swap in battle. If you hold down the button to select/change target, you can also pick a character to change to. On xbox this is LB+Dpad. On pc I think it defaults to alt+number keys. Can also be done by pausing and hitting RB/LB on xbox. Q/E on pc. Pretty sure these only last till the end of battle.

@raikacchi fixed keyboard explanation. You need to pass cursor over character, then press F.

Correction to keyboard : right click to confirm. (right click anywhere blank in screen)
(F = confirm leader)
