How to get a Free TF2 Taunt in 2021

This guide shows players how to get a free TF2 taunt in 2021 without paying any money.

Before you dislike this guide, PLEASE NOTE that this guide is not some kind of scam method to get taunts like: "the kazotsky kick", "Rancho Relaxo" or any other paid TF2 taunt.

This guide will only help to unlock a 𝑺𝑷𝑬𝑪𝑰𝑭𝑰𝑪 𝑻𝑨𝑼𝑵𝑻 that can only be obtained by completing the steps mentioned in this guide. Don't forget that this taunt is FREE so it won't be anything mind blowing.

What to do:

Firstly, you have to join a TF2 server that allows for the saving of replays.

What are replays? You might ask. The answer is that TF2 has a built-in function that allows you to save moments when you played 1 full life from the time you spawn to the moment you die and it stops recording.

To save a replay all you have to do is press the "F6" button at the top of your keyboard. Make sure that if you have a programable keyboard that you disable any functions that you may have set to the F6 key. Alternatively, you can change your keybindings in the settings to not save a replay with the F6 key, but instead another key like "L" or something. It really doesn't matter as long as you have the ability to save replays you should be good to go.

But wait there's a problem!

Whenever I join any server on TF2, it says: "The server is not recording replays right now". What can I do about this?

Well most servers do not support the recording of replays because of many complicated and unimportant issues that do not concern us.

So instead, I'll tell you what you must do using screenshots. For starters, you click the green "Find A Game" button at the top right of the screen on the main menu:



Then you have to click "Community servers" on the menu that pops out from the right:



Then you should see the server browser open up with a giant list of random servers playing on different maps in TF2:



At the bottom of the server browser, there is a box that says: "Supports Replays", click this box to only find servers that support replays and there should be a ton of them:

If you cannot find the server in the server browser, you can connect to the server manually using both the server's IP address (which I will state below) and by enabling the developer console.

The developer's console can be enabled by going into the settings menu:



Click "advanced":



and then toggle: "enable developer console".



Once that's done, press your "~" key (next to the "1" key) on your keyboard and you should see a prompt show up with a bunch of messages which are not important to you. Once you see the developer console simply type:

connect 192.223.26.238:27015

You can also copy and paste the above command. This should instantly connect you to the server if it still exists. If the server does not exist, then you will have to go back to the server browser mentioned from before and you will have to manually try each server until you find one that lets you record a replay using the F6 key.

Final Steps

You should be able to get the achievement: "Star of My Own Show" which will grant you the free taunt.
