Introduction
Howdy I will be giving a run down of all weapons and their mods from Doom Eternal.
There are 9 weapons and 12 weapon mods in doom eternal and I will be going through them all.
1. Shotgun

Doom Eternal foregoes the pistol being the first weapon as in all the other Doom games and starts you off with the shotgun.

The Shotgun is used for staggering light enemies with it's primary fire. It is a shotgun so it is good at close range but weak at medium range and a glorified spitball at long ranges. But it's mods are the aspects that remain useful through out the game.

Mod 1: Sticky Bombs: The sticky bombs are great at destroying enemy weak points like the Mancubus' Arm Canon's or the Revenant's Rocket Launchers. You can also stagger Cacodemons with one shot by shooting a bomb into its mouth, allowing for you to glory kill it.

Mod 2: Full Auto: It's pretty bad. It rarely comes into play, but i guess the mastery add-on is nice. Allowing for you to farm shotgun shells off of fodder enemies. Other than that it just is rarely worth using, It slows you down an awful lot which normally leads to you dying.
2. Heavy Cannon

The Heavy Cannon is a high fire-rate, low damage weapon. It can be used from any range with decent - good results.

Mod 1: Precision Bolt: The Precision Bolt consumes 6 ammo per shot but can one shot fodder enemies with a headshot, and do massive damage to higher tier enemies. But its real use comes from using it one enemy weak points. You can 1 shot the Revenant's Shoulder Launchers or the Mancubus' Arm Cannons.

Mod 2: Micro-Missiles: The Micro-Missiles explode a few moments after impact with splash damage. You can fire 12 of them before having to reload. They're OK but no where near as good as the Precision Bolt.
3. Plasma Rifle

The Plasma Rifle is one of the most useful weapons in Doom Eternal. You will almost always find yourself pulling it out against shield enemies, Doom Hunters, or Carcass' to destroy their shields an do massive damage to everything around them.

Mod 1: Heat Blast: The Heat Blast builds charge as you deal damage with it. You can use it once you have filled its meter at least a third of the way but it will do more damage at two third and caps out at full. It fires in a cone shape ahead of you doing high damage to everything in front of you. At full charge it can destroy enemy weakpoints, falter heavy enemies, or tear through fodder enemies.

Mod 2: Mircowave Beam: ID wasn't fooling anyone it's a Proton Pack. And like the Proton Pack you use it to single out one single enemy, stun him, and eventually defeat him. Unlike the Proton Pack upon successfully defeating an enemy he will explode doing massive splash damage around him. However a useful strategy I have found with it is if you just tap them with the beam it will stun any enemy for roughly 1 second which you can use to hit them with a Super Shotgun shot or Ballista round. It is also the only way to kill Spirits in The Ancient Gods DLC.
4. Rocket Launcher

The Rocket Launcher is a high damage projectile based weapon with two really good weapon mods. It is apparently also called the Paingiver but I will just be calling it the Rocket Launcher

Mod 1: Lock-on Burst: The Lock on burst once locked on to an enemy will fire 3 heat seeking rockets at the enemy. It is fantastic against Whiplashes and Prowlers as it one-shots either one of them. It is also great against Tyrants and Barons to get some quick high damage on them.

Mod 2: Remote Detonation: I don't use this one much except against Pain Elementals but it is really good against them. Also get the Proximity Flare upgrade ASAP with this thing it really helps.
5. Super Shotgun

The Super Shotgun is the best weapon in the game by far. It has high damage, it has high mobility, and later on it lets you get armor for free, without the Flame Belch. It only has one mod but that one mod is probably the best one in the whole game.

The Mod: The Meathook: This thing is fantastic, it is one of the best new inclusions in the game alongside the Double Dash. It shoots a hook out from the front of the gun allowing you to go flying towards an enemy, setting you up for a point blank shot or a even higher jump. You can skip entire sections of the game if you know how with this thing. Also with it's mastery you ignite enemies you use it on, making them drop armor.
6. Ballista

The Ballista replaces Doom 2016's Gauss Cannon. It consumes 25 ammo per shot and is great for destroying enemy weak points from range. And particularly the Archvile's shield. I don't have very much experience with its mods but i know the basics of how they work as well as their main uses.

Mod 1: Destroyer Blade: The Destroyer blade is a super high powered projectile with a huge hitbox. However it takes a very long time to charge up to fire it, but when it does it deletes all fodder enemies, and a large amount of heavy enemies.

Mod 2: Arbalest: This is best used against Heavy and Super Heavy Enemies, like the Tyrant, Baron, or Archvile. It fires an energy projectile that embeds in enemies and then explodes dealing more damage than a direct hit Rocket Launcher.
7. Chaingun

The Chaingun is a really cool weapon, it has had one major change since Doom 2016 that being it no longer has to charge up before you can fire it. It is primarily used for crowd control and doing quick damage to super heavy enemies. Lastly it uses the same ammo as the Heavy Cannon.

Mod 1: Mobile Turret: This mod chews through everything but eats ammo just as fast. It tears apart Archviles, Tyrants, and Barons. Also it can overheat after a few seconds of firing, however this can be remedied by unlocking the mastery which makes it never overheat.

Mod 2: Energy Shield: The Energy Shield tanks damage from the front until it is taken down. Its real use comes after you beat the mastery challenge which allows you to launch the shield forward at enemies faltering them, setting you up for any number of follow up attacks.
8. BFG 9000

The BFG 9000 is the first of two super weapons. And is the weapon of choice for large crowds of enemies. It can kill most enemies (other than the Tyrant, the Doom Hunter and a few other Super Heavy enemies) in a single direct hit and leave any survivors with extremely low health. it has no mods, but honestly it doesn't need them.
9. Unmakyr

The Unmakyr is the second super weapon in the game. It is also the only weapon not unlocked via the campaign, instead being unlocked by completing all 6 Slayer Gates. It is a returning weapon from Doom 64. It is best used against Marauders (allowing for a easy kill with just two of his attack cycles) or when surrounded by large clusters of enemies and you are near death. Its major downside is the fact that it uses BFG ammo.
10. Misc
Misc 1. Fist: It does 1 whole damage.

Misc 2: Glory Kill: When you deal enough damage with any weapons you can then launch into a finishing move that drops health when used. Also there is a lot of animations for it.

Misc 3: Chainsaw: The Chainsaw has a max of 3 ammo requiring 1 ammo for fodder enemies and 3 ammo for heavy enemies. When you use it the enemy drops a full refill of ammo for all weapons (besides the BFG of course).

Misc 4: Blood Punch: Blood Punch is a super strong melee attack that is charged by 2 glory kills. When used you hit the enemy you were aiming at and send out a shockwave doing damage to enemies around it and destroying most enemies weak points with just one hit.

Misc 5: Flame Belch: The Flame Belch can be used to instantly ignite a group of enemies and enemies that are ignited drop armor. So it is used to reload your armor essentially.

Misc 6: Crucible: The Crucible has 3 ammo, it uses one ammo to kill any enemy (besides Marauder and Doom Hunter) so it is best used against Archviles and Tyrants.

hey i am new to the game so can you answer my one question:is the full-auto shotgun like a really really really shitty close-range chain gun?

Full auto can be really good for quick damage with little to negative ammo cost (microwave beam works well with it too)

Pretty useless "guide" with zero advanced info.

It might do some damage over time, but not very much.

I think Flame Belch also does some dmg because I've staggered low hp demons with it
