Halo 2 - Cairo Station (ntx_cairostation)

Description
The great grand amazing v2 update is out!

"Alert: Boarders inbound."

This map is a reasonably faithful version of the first two loading zones of Cairo Station from Halo 2. It's not quite the quality of the original map but it's alright.

Features!:
  • Most of the playable area from the first two loading zones with a few extra entrances added here and there.
  • An invading armada of ambient_generics controlling the background audio of the map such as announcements from Lord Hood and explosions
  • A series of (really crappy) explosions going on above the station as the battle for Earth begins.
  • Working doors
  • Useable MAC cannon that can be toggled with buttons in Security Station R-01. (Green to begin firing sequence, red to end firing sequence, do not press red first)
  • Wee woo button in Security Station R-01. (the blinking red one)
  • Useable tram system going across the map to a few stops
  • 3D Skybox
  • Working elevator in the armory.
  • Moving ships in the skybox

v2 update list (as of March 24th, 2022):
  • Cubemaps
  • Propper-made models
  • Corrected textures
  • $detail textures
  • More detailed geometry
  • More accurate lighting
  • More attention to detail (Rotating lights, a whole firing sequence on the main gun, etc)
  • Fixes to accuracy (security room, habitats, recreation, etc)
  • Visleaf optimization (see ya later, cracks in the walls!)
  • More interactivity (More breakable glass, gun racks, some props)
  • And more that I've most likely forgotten!

To do list for potential future updates:
  • Find some way to fade out the space explosions
  • Make a part 2 of the map with the rooms I didn't include

Notes:
I don't have a problem about anyone using the map for roleplay but that's not what the map is designed for. I might at some point make a more roleplay friendly version at some point but I'd need to know what the map would need for it as I've never played HaloRP before.

If there are any crashes or severe performance issues please tell me. I haven't had any issues with the map yet.

I am still procrastinating, and now i have work, so it would probably take a very long time lol.

Though I did upload an unlisted incomplete version of it a while back, though i dont know how well it would work after so many years

Will there ever be a map that covers the other half of this? I'm considering remaking a cutscene

The textures are ripped from Halo 2 and will be replaced with more resolution accurate textures when I eventually get to redoing this again. If you want to sure, just know that they belong to Microsoft

I have a version of the part 2 map that has been like 99 percent ready for like a year or two (or three) at this point. However my methods and standards have changed in the since and I may or may not recreate the map using said methods. Though I probably should just release a polished version of what i have lol..

As for the explosion things, i have no idea how to extract the sprites from Halo 2 effectively and make a source engine sprite out of them, so maybe maybe not
