World Events in Sea of Thieves

Here I'll tell you about main events in SoT

Megalodon

There are 5 types of Megalodons. Listed in order of increasing rarity.


Megalodon spawns in the random place in sea while you sail. To kill him you must:
on a Sloop around 12-15 cannonballs
on a Brigantine around 15-18 cannonballs
on a Galleon around 30-32

AWARDS

Megalodon upon defeat can give you:
4-6 pieces of Megalodon meat
5-12 random Treasure items from this list:

• Regular, Ashen and Cursed Treasure Chests
  
• Skeleton Captain’s Chests
  
• Stronghold Chests
  
• Regular and Ashen Trinkets
  
• Regular and Ashen Trade Good Crates
  
• Regular and Ashen Bounty Skulls
  
• Skeleton Captain’s Skulls
  
• Stronghold Skulls
  
• Mermaid Gems
  
• Collector's Chests with Gold and other small Treasure

Skeleton Ship

Skeleton Ship spawns to the right or to the left of your ship

There are 2 types of ships:
Sloop

Galleon

Skeleton Sloop spawns near the Sloops
Skeleton Galleon spawns near the Brigantines and Galleons

To kill them you must hit their ship(like humans). They can repair ship but they can't draw water

Once defeated, a Skeleton Ship will leave behind 3-12 pieces of Treasure from the list below:

Kraken

Kraken spawns under a ship while you sail. Water will turn black, ship will be slower.


There are 4 types of "arms" to the Kraken:

• "Inhaler" arms make a wind graphic on the deck and suck a player up into the arm. To avoid getting sucked in, go below deck or do damage to the open, inhaling "mouth" on a nearby tentacle. Once sucked, the player is rooted in the arm and it will occasionally slap them on the water's surface, dealing a large amount of damage. Eventually, the arm will throw the player into the water a little ways from the ship. A trapped player can be freed early by damaging the arm or harpooning out of its mouth.
  
• "Tangling" arms wrap around the body of the ship, with the head of the wrapped tentacle popping out of the water close to either side of the ship or laying onto the deck of the ship. The wrap immobilizes the ship and causes holes in the hull over time and pulls the ship lower, causing some holes to take in water faster. Damaging the head of the wrapping tentacle is the quickest way of releasing the wrap. Gun and sword damage will cause it to splash poisonous Kraken blood on nearby attackers. Damaging the main body wrap on the deck can also release the wrap, but takes longer and may inflict poison damage.
  
• "Slapping" arms quickly spawn and slap hard against the side of the ship, causing movement and damage similar to a Gunpowder Barrel.
  
• "Target" arms just float around sticking straight up for players to shoot, rewarding loot upon being slain.

To kill him you must hit his tentacles:
on a Sloop around 3-4 tentacles
on a Brigantine around 5-6 tentacles
on a Galleon around 7-8 tentacles

AWARDS

Kraken drops on each tentacle 1 piece of Kraken meat and 1-2 pieces of loot(e.g Treasure Chests, Trinkets, Bounty Skulls, Mermaid Gems, Trade Good Crates or a Message in a Bottle)

Skeleton Fleet

Skeleton Fleet is the BIG white cloud in the shape of a Ship.


There are 3 waves. To get VICTORY you must kill all ships and defeat all waves.

All of these waves can spawn 1 or 2 skeleton ships

The third and final wave has one Skeleton Ship with a Skeleton Captain. The Fleet event ends once the ship with the Captain is sunk.

AWARDS

Simple skeleton ships can drop you up to 12 different pieces of random Treasure.

The Ship with Captain will drop you:

• 1 Ritual Skulls
  
• 2 Ashen Keys
  
• 2 Ashen Chests
  
• 8 Skeleton Captain’s Chests
  
• 6 Skeleton Captain’s Skulls
  
• Additional Treasure equivalent to one Skeleton Ship

Skeleton Fort

There is a large gray Cloud in the shape of a Skull with green eyes.


First Captain Wave
After the 12 regulat waves of simple Skeletons you will fight the Skeleon Captain and ~10 simple Skeletons. Upon defeat Skeleton Captain will drop a Villainous Bounty Skull

Second Captain Wave
The second boss wave will appear with yet some more simple Skeletons but this time there are 2 Ashen Skeleton Captains: Ashen Key Master and Ashen Guardian

The Ashen Key Master will drop a Villainous Bounty Skull and an Ashen Key upon defeat.

The Ashen Guardian will drop a Villainous Bounty Skull and Skeleton's Orders in the form of an X Marks the Spot Map on the same Fort with 1 X, uncovering an Ashen Chest.

Skeleton Lord Wave
After the second wave is completed, the final Skeleton Lord wave will commence. This lord has round 4000-4500 Health. Skeleton Lord has Cutlass, Flintlock, Blunderbuss to kill you. He can summon more simple Skeletons (around 10 with 50 Health)

Upon defeat, he will drop you Stronghold Key.

AWARDS

Guaranteed:

• 3 Villainous Bounty Skulls, dropped by the three bosses: Skeleton Captain, Ashen Key Master and Ashen Guardian
  
• 1 Ashen Key, dropped by the Ashen Key Master
  
• 1 Skeleton's Orders Treasure Map, dropped by the Ashen Guardian that unearths an Ashen Chest on the Fort.
  
• 1 Stronghold Skull, dropped by the Skeleton Lord
  
• 1 Skeleton's Orders Treasure Map dropped by the Skeleton Lord that unearths a Rag and Bone Crate
  
• 1 Stronghold Key (dropped by the Skeleton Lord), that opens the Fortress Vault

May be found:

• 1-2 Stronghold Chest
  
• 1-2 Stronghold Skull
  
• 1-2 Crate of Ancient Bone Dust
  
• 1 Stronghold Gunpowder Barrel
  
• 3 Gunpowder Barrels
  
• 1 Ashen Chest
  
• 1-2 Gift
  
• 1 Mermaid Gem
  
• 12 random regular Treasure items including: Treasure Chests, Artefacts, Bounty Skulls, Trade Good Crates & filled Collector's Chests
  
• 1 Chest of Rage (only in Molten Sands Fortress)

P.S. There's no way to open the Stronghold Vault without Stronghold key, but you can use this key to open other Stronghold Vaults

Ashen Winds

There are 4 The Ashen Lords:
1) Captain Grimm
2) Red Ruth
3) Old Horatio
4) Warden Chi


Ashen Winds is the large red storm. Possible locations of spawn:

• Kraken's Fall
  
• Shipwreck Bay
  
• Marauder’s Arch
  
• Cannon Cove
  
• Wanderers Refuge
  
• Mermaid's Hideaway
  
• Devil's Ridge

The Ashen Winds lord has 3 phases:
1st phase - He's too easy. He can Melee Attack, Fire Breath, Lunge Attack, Boulder Throw, Summon Skeletons, Ash Cloud
2nd phase - He's harder. He can Shockwave
3rd phase - He's harder than 2nd phase. He can the strongest attack - World's End

AWARDS

Upon defeat, they leave behind guaranteed treasure: Ashen Winds Skull, Chest of Rage, Ritual Skull

They also leave around 15 Ashen treasures. Treasures of varying types and amount:

• Any type of Ashen Treasure Chests
  
• Any type of Devil's Roar Artefacts
  
• Any type of Ashen Bounty Skulls
  
• Any type of Devil's Roar Trade Good Crates
  
• A Collector's Chest with Gold and 0-3 Devil's Roar Artefacts inside
  
• An unlocked Ashen Chest with Gold and 0-3 Ashen Chest reward pool items inside

Fort of the Damned

To activate this fort you must collect and used on a Ferryman statues 6 flames and put the Ritual Skull

• The Flame of Treacherous Weather (White) - Death by Lightning.
  
• The Flame of Embattled Souls (Pink) - Death by Player Pirates from other Crews.
  
• The Flame of Lost Seafarers (Blue) - Death by a Shark, Megalodon or Siren.
  
• The Flame of Cursed Bones (Green) - Death by a Skeleton, Ocean Crawler or Phantom.
  
• The Flame of Burning Hearts (Red) - Death by Fire from any source, or by falling volcanic rocks or dying from flowing lava on Islands.
  
• The Flame of the Viper (Purple) - Death by Poison. This includes dying to a Snake bite, a Venomball or the Kraken's poisonous ink.

Once the ritual is complete, the battle is starting. Damned Skeletons will spawn and you must take Skeleton-colored fire and raise up the lantern and then kill the Skeleton.

After colorful Skeletons defeated, the main boss will spawn. You must just damage him without the flasmes but he can spawn colorful Skeletons.

Upon you kill the Ghost of Graymarrow(boss), he'll drop you Fort of the Damned key
This key has marker on the map for all players. Use this key to open Stronghold

• 2 Reaper's Bones Chests: Either Reaper’s Chests or Reaper’s Bounties or one of each

• Various Fruit scattered on the ground, with a high chance of spawning Pineapples

Fort of Fortune

There is the large red skull cloud


This event has 18 waves of skeletons.
The first 15 waves identical to waves of a Skeleton Fort, with the difference of every 4-5th wave have 3 Skeleton Captains.

The 16th wave is identical to the last wave of a Skeleton Fort, with a few skeletons and a Skeleton Lord
The 17th wave is almost identical to the 16th, with 2 Skeleton Lords
The 18th and last wave consists of 1 Ashen Lord.

Once the player kill the Ashen Lord, it drops an Ashen Winds Skull, Gold Pouches and Fort of Fortune Key
