Introduction
SCP-087-B is a short, experimental indie horror game created by Joonas ("Regalis") Rikkonen. It is loosely based upon the SCP Foundation universe and is considered by Regalis to be the stepping stone to the creation of SCP - Containment Breach.

However this original version of the game isn't what I'm talking about, the version I'm talking about is the mod made by JackFastGame that extends the game to new heights and adds
new floors, new monsters, and more.

Having been one of the few people to actually know about this mod, I have decided to make a guide on how to survive this game and reach the bottom of this dark stairway.
Installing and launching the game
To install the game you should go to the links provided at https://undertowgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7357
(make sure you get V4.1 as this is the version the guide is based on)
go to the mediafire link and download the file, then extract the RAR through whatever means necessary and then launch the .exe file.
The Beginning (Floors 1-7)
keep going down until you reach floor 7,


approach the wall and you'll see what happens.

now the descent truly begins
General Tips
- the game tends to be trial and error, try to learn from each death.

- your light will sometimes go out, when this happens, don't move until it comes back and be sure where something is coming from so you can run from it.

- ignore any screaming in the distance

- avoid backtracking if you can

- if you hear a voice talking to you (after floor 7), try to do the opposite of what it says.

- try to stay as far away from any pits as possible (for something may try to push you into them)

- you can sprint with shift now, you will need it.

- don't sprint too much though, your stamina is limited.

- if you can't pause, something is going to happen (usually something bad)
Advanced Tips
The Big Rooms

Throughout the game there are 2 similar rooms that can appear at any time. One is typically safe, the other has a high chance of an encounter. The railing can be used to deduce which room it is.


The Forked Path

There are also these forked paths that can be seen throughout the game. Usually one path leads to the next floor and the other leads into a hole that will kill you if you fall in. Sometimes 173 can appear if you approach the hole and force you into it. You can avoid having this happen if you try to manipulate the darkness by looking at an angle to see which path is correct, while also staying as far back as possible.


The Forked Path (With The Voice)

In the lower sector sometimes when you see a forked path you will hear a voice, when this happens wait for it to say it will "ease your suffering", then when the entities appear go left and wait for them to disappear.
The Monsters
throughout the game you will encounter strange entities that can (and will) kill you, here are some tips to avoid dying to them

Mental

this entity will appear quite often throughout your descent, when it appears, run, it will usually give up after a flight of stairs but sometimes it wont, if this is the case, keep running.
you will know it's approaching if your light suddenly goes out or you hear its footsteps.


173

this entity appears less often but is way more unpredictable and dangerous. when you encounter it, keep it within view at all times and stay as far away from it as possible, otherwise it will sprint towards you at an impossible speed.
you will know if it's there by it screaming "don't look at me". sometimes it will appear in a window, when this is the case don't stare at it for too long or it will approach and then kill you. when you hear a voice saying "behind you", do not look behind you. it can also try to corner you if you make a wrong turn occasionally.


Eyekiller

this entity will appear only once, and when that happens, ignore it and just try to navigate the room, it wont do anything other than screw with your vision.
you will know if it is present if you hear strange choked gasping.


Cloth Wander


these entities only appear in the second area, and behave similarly to mental, minus mental's determination, they normally wander aimlessly in the hopes of catching you.
you will know if they are present if you hear their footsteps.


Unknown

This entity is seldom seen by anyone, and is a very hard to spot character in general. I'm pretty sure this is an easter egg.
The Upper Levels (Floors 8-50)
after the event on floor 7, you are now within SCP 087-B's upper levels, there is less danger here but you must still stay cautious.
things here are somewhat similar to how things went in the original game, but the monsters here are a bit more violent.

at around floors 30-35, 173 will appear as it did in the original game, avoid it the same way as in the original game and continue

at around floors 37-42, there will be a scripted chase through a maze. Do not run backwards and instead run past him quickly and try to go right as much as possible.

The Event on Floor 50

take a left and do not run back, and make sure you press this button (you click on it)
The Lower Levels (Floors 51-92)
after the encounter with mental on room 50, you are now in the lower levels of the scp, now the danger has increased significantly, the floors here are noticeably more abstract and distorted in comparison to the upper areas, mental and 173 are now way more aggressive here and you should be wary of them. keep going until you find the elevator at floor 92 (try not to go into the broken walls, unless that's your only means of moving forward)

here the visions will get worse, and the monsters grow angrier.
The Elevator (92-???)
at floor 92 you will find an elevator, go into it you will be taken to a much deeper floor.

go down and you will find a very big room.

take note of the surroundings, this place will be important.



find this button and press it


The Boss Fight

Immediately turn around after pressing the button for 173 will appear behind you. now keep your eyes on 173 at all times unless you are on an elevated surface.

mental also appears shortly after to keep you moving.

keep pressing buttons until you hear something clicking, that will be the pillar, go onto the pillar and then you will be on this platform


press the button and see what happens.

The Second Area (???-???)
the final stretch.


the second area is very simple at its core, as there are few variations in floors here, and the only entities here are the cloth wanders, though they are still dangerous despite being aimless.
after quite a few floors you will find the bottom, go down and try to avoid the cloth wanders and press the 2 buttons there (start with the one on the left).
After that, approach this door and you've beaten the game.

Nice thanks, but only two times I made it that far and both times I failed miserably either mental cornered me or that don't look at me red mist demon just killed me in less than one second ahh man it's hard.
