How To Use The Console

(If you already know how to use the in-game console, skip this section)

In order to use the commands listed below, you're gonna want to open the Developer Console. To do that, open CS:GO, head over to the Settings Menu, then to Game, and make sure the option Enable Developer Console (~) is turned on.


Perfect! Now every time you hit the ~ key on your keyboard, the Developer Console should come up! Ready to move on to the commands.

Commands

Once you've opened the Demo you want to improve and enabled your Developer Console by pressing the ~ key, you can type in the following commands:

• mp_display_kill_assists 0 (hides assists)
  
  
• cl_draw_only_deathnotices 1 (hides the HUD, and probably the most important command out of all :D)
  
  
• snd_setmixer dialog vol 0 (disables the automated voice lines of the CS:GO terrorist or
  counter-terrorist agents)
  
  
• voice_scale 0 (disables the in-game player voice chat)

To improve the Aesthetics of your Demo, you should use the next commands:

• sv_cheats 1 (enables cheats, so that you can execute commands you wouldn't otherwise be able to execute in an actual game)
  
  
• sv_skyname vertigoblue_hdr (changes the sky, many other options - check the last section of this guide)
  
  
• mat_postprocess_enable 0 (disables most of the postprocess effects of the Demo, making it look more clean)
  
  
• fog_enable 0 (disables the fog)
  
  
• fov_cs_debug 120 (changes the player's FOV - Field Of View - of course you can add either higher or lower values instead of 120)

Advanced Commands With HLAE

If you don't know how to set up this program, skip to the next section of the guide (Setting Up HLAE)

With this program, you will be able to execute the following commands:

• mirv_deathmsg debug 1 (allows you to see your AttackerId - In order to find your attacker id, you will need to watch through the demo with your console open. Immediately when you get a kill, when you get killed, or when you get an assist for killing someone, you can pause the demo and look at the last line of code of your console, which should look something like this:
  
  As you can see, in this case I took the screenshot right after killing an enemy. Therefore, my player's ID will be the uidAttacker, which in this case is 13. You can use your player's ID in the commands below).
  
  
• mirv_deathmsg block !X * (blocks all killnotices but your own, X = your AttackerId)
  
  
• mirv_deathmsg cfg noticelifetime Y (makes the killnotices last Y seconds, if you want to use a high value in cases where you for example get an ace but the kills are 2 minutes apart, post this command after finding the correct round in the demo or otherwise you will still see the your kills as deathnotices from the previous round when you start watching your ace round)
  
  
• mirv_deathmsg highlightId X (gives your killnotices the red highlight, X = your AttackerId, same as before)
  
  
• mirv_fix playerAnimState 1 (fixes minor inaccuraces in the players' movement)

Setting Up HLAE

In order to set up HLAE, you will first of all need to install the official HLAE software[www.advancedfx.org]

Specific instructions to downloading the program:

1. Open the link https://www.advancedfx.org/download/
   
   
2. Click on the latest version of HLAE (in my case the latest version is HLAE 2.118.0)
   
   
   
3. Download the first .zip file from the GitHub page (in this case, the first file is named hlae_2_119_0.zip)
   
   
   
4. Unzip the zipped file you just downloaded
   
   
5. Open the unzipped folder and execute the file named HLAE.exe
   
   
   
6. Once you've opened the program, click on File and then Launch CS:GO
   
   
   
7. On the window that just popped up click on Browse, and then locate the executable file of CS:GO in your device. Once you've done that, it should look something like this:
   
   
   
8. Lastly, click on the Launch button on the pop-up window to launch CS:GO

One last thing; if you are greeted with a message when you open CS:GO that says that you can't join official matchmaking servers, don't worry! It's because you opened the game through the HLAE program, which is technically a "cheat". Full CS:GO functionality will be restored once you open CS:GO through Steam
