Vanilla Expanded - Raccoon's Patch

Omschrijving
Patches a number of Vanilla Expanded mods to make various changes and additions.
Adjusts balance, removes bloat, changes research requirements, turns VAE Accessories against you, kills your bonded rat and shatters your save into a million pieces (just kidding... unless?)

This is a personal patch I'm sharing as part of learning how to make simple Rimworld mods, and as such is liable to occasionally stop working entirely (because I suck) and randomly erase or heavily change content in your game (because I don't like it). I am not liable for any ruined saves.

Load after all of your Vanilla Expanded mods. I didn't make any attempt to rearrange research, so your tech tree will look wonky unless you have an autogenerated research tree mod, such as those recommended below:

ResearchPal - Forked, for 1.3.
ResearchPowl, for 1.4.
Research Tree (Continued), for 1.5.

In summary:
Vanilla Apparel Expanded - Accessories:
- Some of the accessories have been rebalanced (i.e nerfed), especially the ranged shield belt.
- Accessories see wider use outside your colony.

Vanilla Weapons Expanded:
- Many of the changes from Clean Vanilla Expanded. Many garbage-tier low-tech weapons have been removed, and so have the "tool" weapons. Smoke grenades are more accessible. Some minor weapon balance tweaks.
- Additionally, research requirements have been made friendlier, removing some timewastes to unlock weapons that are designed as sidegrades (such as Specialized Firearms and Designated Marksman Rifle - you now unlock those weapons via Precision Rifling)

Vanilla Furniture Expanded:
- Security: Artillery is now slightly more accurate than a regular mortar. It also requires the use of a reinforced barrel, if that option is enabled.

Vanilla Factions Expanded - Mechanoids:
- Drones research prerequisite is Fabrication, not Factory Basics. Buildable combat mechanoids stats better match their appearance - they're faster, their tankiness is in armor over raw HP, and overall they more resemble a makeshift Lancer and up-armored Scyther. They may be somewhat less effective at facetanking (specifically the ranged mech) but more versatile as they don't take six years to get across the map.

TODO:
- More debloat and balance? Maybe? I dunno.

FAQ:

Q: Do I need the expansions?
A: No! Royalty and Ideology are patched only if they're active.

Q: There's an error about jade throwing rocks?
A: There's a Vanilla Expanded achievement for making jade throwing rocks. I removed throwing rocks. I'll probably make a patch to remove that achievement.

Q: I loaded up an old save and there's a lot of red text?
A: That's probably just the throwing rocks, wrenches and hatchets being erased from existence. Probably nothing to worry about. I hope.

Q: Your patches broke my game?
A: I warned you! Sorry, I'll try and make it not break things.

Q: I disagree with your changes?
A: I encourage you to make your own patch(es)! This is specifically made to adjust things to how I like them. That said, if you can convince me that I would prefer it another way, then sure.

Q: Can you change X?
A: You can always make a suggestion! I'm willing to make more patches and I might even already be planning to change that.

Q: Is this CE compatible?
A: I don't know. I don't use CE and am not going to add specific compatibility if needed, sorry.

confirmed not CE compatible, and also probably doesn't work for newer version of VFES because i'm seeing this patch trying to patch something that doesn't exist

@Narada Doesn't affect the fishing mod. I thought I saw a mod that condenses the fish into just large/medium/small but I don't know it off the top of my head.

I mostly just use fishing, does this one cover that too? I would love if there was just fish, and not different kinds. Quite odd to have only potato rice and corn in my game, and then 500 different fish :D

come across a very weird bug/major problem for some resean this mod alone likes to shut down my steam hence forth if you have a similer problem this is the calpret

can there be a mod-settings menue added for this mod, to allow for more configurability on which patches are enabled/disabled? i like raiders using belts from accessories expanded, but im also a HUGE fan of throwing rocks, and id like to keep them aswell!

I always thought the weapons should link together more fluidly but have no idea how to make such things happen. I wanted to make something like this with a focus on multiple weapon mods but again, no clue about modding RW.

I know it wasnt VE's point to link everything together fluidly so not blaming them.
Its just personally a little jarring to have VFE Medieval include a "Gunpowder" tech that is not needed for vanilla "Gunsmithing" and then also have the VFE Weapons Expanded - Frontiers added tech to come after "Gunsmithing"

Its like you get the ability to make guns without understanding gunpowder and then get the ability to make old west guns after gaining the ability to make modern guns.

Id have made it where if you had Medieval you need to research gunpowder before gunsmithing and if you had VFEWE-F that would be like a middle ground before the more modern stuff was available.
