Silver/Gold Coins Guide

Tips for maximizing silver coins earned and tips for being smart with any gold coins you purchase. Updated June 2024.

Introduction

Silver coins are earned for playing the game and gold coins pretty much have to be bought with real money. Some of the tips provided are more practical than others.

Earning Silver Coins

Silver coins are earned after every match that is long enough, and can be boosted by pets 3 times per day per pet. You can also earn silver coins from daily rewards.

Maximizing After-Game Silver

Classic and Draft are the best game modes for earning silver, as these games are almost always long enough to get you pet bonuses, or at least you spend a larger percentage of your time in-game. Additional tips include:

• Stay until the end of every game if you can.
  
• If you're host, don't wait too long to start the next game, or kindly encourage the host to start.
  
• Claim the Gravy or Hitman/Bodyguard bounty if you can.

Daily Rewards

You can get silver from logging in and claiming daily rewards every 24 hours, which doesn't even require you to play any games. It's a super easy way to earn silver, especially if using the mobile app to redeem.

Pets

Aside from getting the Party Goose in the supporter pack, pets are randomly obtained from Peck and Claw machines that cost gold. Just make sure to take advantage of your pet if you have one (playing daily and switching pets every 3 games if you have more than one pet).

Achievements

Some achievements offer a silver reward. Most of the Steam achievements not tied to a cosmetic offer a silver reward, as well as the achievements for winning as roles and earning accolade cards in Tastes Like Chicken. Exact amounts vary but don't exceed 250 silver.

Getting Gold Coins

Earning Gold

You can get some free gold from daily rewards However, it takes a long time to accumulate more than 20-40 gold coins.

Buying Specialty Packs

In general, the packs are the best value in the shop.

Starter Pack: Good value (gold value equivalent of ~300 gold plus 2,500 silver).

Supporter Pack: Great value (gold value equivalent of ~850 gold plus 6,000 silver). (This pack also contains the only pet that can be directly purchased at any time).

The Goose Shop

You can see special offers, cosmetic packs, and gold packs from here. On PC, clicking the link to make a purchase will take you to to the gaggle website, and you can pay with a card, PayPal, or Alipay from there. You cannot use your steam wallet to make purchases. On mobile, purchases work as normal.

Buying Gold Coins

I highly suggest buying the 325 or 990 coin pack. The bonus coins are great, not to mention, what you can buy with less than 200 gold coins is limited. I personally bought some of the smaller packs and regretted not having bought a larger pack from the start. You can also keep an eye out for special offers for gold, as sometimes you can get a small quantity of gold at a rate equivalent to buying a larger pack.

Gifting Gold

If you would like to gift gold to other players, you must do so through the gaggle.fun website. On the order form, there is the option to "purchase as gift codes." Once purchased, these codes will be sent to your email address, and you can send them to your friend through the in game messaging feature. Only gold packs are eligible for gifting, not cosmetic packs, special offers, or tokens for limited-time events

Special Offers

Special Offers, added in update 3.06, are a way for players to purchase cosmetics and gold. These offers are personalized for each account; you will never see a new offer for a cosmetic you own. Some classes of cosmetics that have been documented include:

• Twitch drop cosmetics from devlogs
  
• Old limited time cosmetics
  
• Newer cosmetics, many of which have also been seen in the dust shop

Should I Buy?

Each offer must be assessed individually, as some offers seem far better than others. These are often but not always paired with gold, so you have to assess how much you are paying for the cosmetic, and whether that price is worth it to you. For example, the first offer below is a decent price, as the gold would be around $17, and the cosmetic included was a rather expensive one. The second offer is probably not worth it. just make sure to stop and ask yourself if it is worth it to you before purchasing any special offers. It is also possible to see multiple different offers for the same cosmetic or amount of gold, so just keep an eye out for the best time to buy.

Why are similar or identical offers priced differently?

The quality of an offer is often directly influenced by the amount of time the offer is available for. For example: an offer that is available for 48 hours will likely not be as good as one that is only available for 24 hours.

Redeeming Purchases

You used to have to restart the game to gain access to any purchases made while running the game. Now, you can just go to the shop tab and select the option to claim the item(s) you purchased.
