How to get work King Quest VII - 2014

As you've noticed, this game doesn't work on newest systems, with this short guide, you will learn how to get work this game properly and fix some issues.

First, download the official patch from SIERRA.

When you install this patch, It will ask you for DOSBox, if you don't have It, the latest version will be downloaded.
Same with ScummVM.

Later, you must choose the CD Music for "Girl in the Tower", I recomend you to choose FLAC for quality, because if you're here, is because you have a good computer, if not, select OGG. Finally, It will ask you for download the cutscenes movies, install It.

Last for more advanced users: You can configure the DOSBox settings if you want.i

As a consecuence for this, you can't lauch the game from steam anymore, unless you check the file integrity of reinstall the game entirely, and must launch the game from the new shotcuts.

The fix isn't working. I clicked on the link to send me to the Sierra Help web site and I received an error message reading, "Website is offline." Does anyone know whether this is a permanent shut down of the Sierra Help site or temporary?

Thank you for this helpful post. I had some issues though. I pointed this installer to where dosbox was already installed, and after the installation had completed, dosbox had instead been removed from the King's Quest Collection folder. This could be somehow due to having a different Dosbox version installed in various other folders on my PC.

Also, when choosing the CD Music for "Girl in the Tower" the dialog box appeared to have errors. There were 4 buttons labeled [Girl] [in] [the] [Tower"]
The button labels somehow got corrupted. I choose the first button but didn't know what the choice was doing.

If this happens to someone else, try to open one of the King's Quest games. Then you should get an error saying Dosbox was not found in "<File Path>" which will be something like ..\steamapps\common\King's Quest Collection\dosbox-0.63\ or similar.

Then download Dosbox and make sure the exe file is located in that folder above. I used version 0.74 and it worked fine.
