Ghostbusters: Answer the Call

Description
Ghostbusters: Answer the Call is a cooperative game for 2 to 6 players. Everyone is on the same team of Ghostbusters trying to trap powerful Ghosts within a building before those mischievous spooks can escape into The City or cause enough Instability to suck everyone into the Spirit World.

Switch between various Ghostbusters and their allies to utilize special abilities and skills to get rid of Ectoplasm, close Spirit Rifts, and capture Ghosts. No one said being a Ghostbuster was easy as the Mass Hysteria! Phase of every player's turn spreads more Ectoplasm, Spirit Rifts and all kinds of paranormal effects. You might even see a Unique Ghost like Samhain, the Sandman, or the Scoleri Brothers!

There is some basic scripting to appropriately build the Mass Hysteria! Deck and the supply of Psycho-Kinetic Spike cards based on your desired difficulty level and number of players.

Playtime:
75 mins, faster the more familiar

Players:
2-6 but as a fully cooperative game one player can play multiple Ghostbusters, so works perfectly fine as a solo game.

What about the Twinkie?

Ghostbusters: Answer the Call is a complete reskinning of the great game Flash Point: Fire Rescue, designed by Kevin Lanzing. I love Flash Point, backed every Kickstarter, have every release. Despite loving the game, I always thought the theme was a bit off. You can never defeat the fire; it just never stops spreading. Why does this homeowner store highly explosive chemicals in their bedroom, next to the piano, and in the foyer? Why does this house have so many people and how did I miss these four people in the bathroom the first time I came through?

One night playing I realized that the mechanics of Flash Point: Fire Rescue would work perfectly in a Ghostbusters setting. I recently read Ghostbusters 101 from IDW comics, and here we are. Digital gaming has kept a lot of people (me included) safe and sane during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020/2021/202?, so I was hoping to re-ignite the love of Ghostbusters and Flash Point: Fire Rescue in one single workshop mod.

Hi fellow Ghostbusters,

I've a spooky version of the 2nd map from the Flash Point base game. The map is a multi-state object, but this is handled for the player by a map selection entry in the setup menu. Because of having multiple maps, I implemented an automatic door placing to the setup script.

I updated the way the Mass Hysteria! deck and PK Spike supply is built, but really nothing is different for the player in regards to that!

I'm working on the other map from the base game, then I will probably be implementing the more complex maps starting with 2nd levels and basements.
