Real-Time Auto Save

Description
Description
Allows you to configure auto-saves to happen on a real-time interval rather than an in-game time interval (default is 10 minutes). That way if you're working on some complex planning while the game is paused, it will still be saved every so often in case you get a BSOD or something (Windows 10 amiright?)

Compatibility
Tested with versions 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5. Use at your own risk!! I am not responsible if your auto-saves aren't working and your game crashes and you lose hours of progress.

This mod is great if you want to play absolutely hardcore, no quiting or save-scuming a situation just so you can revert back 10 mins of work.

I can't thank you enough for this mod. I have so many mods that my game screen will freeze (game still runs) and I have to Task Manager my way out. I've lost so many random encounters as a result of having to default to the previous autosave AND Rim's autosave intervals are kinda bunk. You deserve a lifetime supply of Nerds gummy clusters

@babyblue Do you have the game configured to run in the background? If not, that probably wouldn't work.

not sure if it's different on my pc, but when i alt-tab out of the game, no more saves are being made. easy fix. as far as i'm concerned, this is an s-tier must-have-mod! thank you so much 1trick!

This has always been a fantastic and must-have mod; but I've slowly realized the downside of it over the years of playing with it:

Ideally, you'd want both real-time and in-game auto-save cadences running; ... and for them to not overwrite eachother. The thing is, with this mod running, if you pause the game and walk away from your computer for a couple of hours (say something came up unexpectedly irl) ... then you come back, and every single of your 20 auto-save slots has been overwritten with an identical save? That's unpleasant. Now you've lost any chance of going a bit back in real-game-time to undo a bug you didn't realize you'd triggered.

...

... Another alternative improvement (or, possibly, in addition - no reason they couldn't coexist?): use mouse-movement or keyboard-entry to gate the real-time clock. If the user isn't interacting with the game, after a bit, it stops counting towards the autosave timer; if your computer sits entierly idle, paused, with zero user-interaction, for twenty minutes ... that should be one autosave, not four identical ones.

@hottt3 that is LITERALLY the purpose of the mod. Its SUPPOSE to save even when the game is paused, as explicitly stated in the mod description.

Steam comments give me brain aids.

This mod keeps saving the game (and count the time) even if the game is on pause - not good.
