how 2 be good dective space men
Hello and welcome to the guide. If you're reading this, then THANK YOU, because you have chosen to read this guide instead of those unfunny meme ones like "HOW 2 BRAETH OCSEGEN."

I prefer being Crewmate over Impostor. In fact I actually hate being Impostor, but for most people it's the other way around. And I'm writing a guide because of that fact. I don't know how to start these damn guides. Never did and probably never will, but the only thing I know is that you NEVER start with the word "So".

1. Do NOT Cam-Camp.

Basically, Cam-Camping is that thing that you have definitely see something do at one point in your Crewmate Career. It's when one of your """"teammates"""" decides to close their task menu, Go into security, and get on cameras and look for dead bodies like a vulture.

Not only is this bad for your teammates because by not doing tasks you're putting all their effort to waste. Remember, task wins only happen when EVERY crewmate finishes tasks, You're not an exception. Also, task wins are more common than catching an impostor kill on cameras if you're there 24/7. Sure, there are moments where you get lucky and an Impostor kills someone without noticing the red dot on the cameras, but most Impostors usually look for those before killing, plus they can sabotage doors help burn their kill cool-down while they head straight your way. But that's rare because, Do you think the Impostor is gonna stab someone right in-front of you? Plus, if the Impostor sees glowing red dots everywhere, You're bringing a bread trail right to you. All you do is give the Impostor an opportunity for a free kill.

Now, I ENCOURAGE being on cameras if you FINISHED all tasks, but if even ONE is not complete, get off your desk and go do your wires.

Also 1.5, this is an opinion but I think the Admin Table is better than Security Cameras, cause you can see all over the place, and if you got a sharp eye you can see if someone dies. Again though, Don't admin camp unless all of your jobs are done.

2. Use meetings even if you have no leads, but DON'T overuse them!

Meetings are a VERY valuable tool in Among Us, which is why you must use meetings wisely. If you don't, you're a Silent Sam until you or someone else finds a body, and if you're that desperate for a meeting, chances are there is an Impostor chasing you. Well, it's either that or the crew voted you out for spamming meetings. You and I both do NOT want either of those happening, So I'm going to give you some situations to use these meetings in.

If you feel it's been a little too long before a body has been reported or a meeting was manually called

If the task bar has suddenly stalled

If you're looking for a specific crewmate but can't find them

If it's late game and you want to see if anyone has visual tasks

And DON'T use your meetings to:

Tell everyone that you have a visual task at the very start of the game. Just wait until a dead body is found, or another crewmate calls a meeting.

Troll. Trust me, you aren't funny. saying that an innocent crewmate vented? Yeah, comedy genius over here.

3. Try to keep track of as much as you constantly can, even little things. For example, Let's say you see Pink go into Navigation, and Green follows them. You don't think much of it...Until Yellow finds Pink dead 30 seconds later and say they were killed in Navigation. If you keep track of it you can drop a bomb on the crewmates (not literally) by saying you saw Green go in there with them just 30 seconds before. If you don't keep Pink and Green's partnership in mind however, your brain probably already forgot who went there with Pink, and so Green gets away with a kill that undoubtedly been their downfall.

This step does seem hard, because you have to keep track of EVERY crewmate's location, but I promise it's going to be worth it.

4. Don't be so quick to judge. Be open-minded.

Most players trust whoever speaks first, even if they don't give proof or the difference between dropping each-other's names is a millisecond, but try to not do that. Picture this, Blue reports Purple dead, and says Red did it instantly. Red says that Blue did it though. You and the other crewmates immediately trust Blue because he spoke first. Red is voted out and the game ends, and Blue was one of the Impostors. How could this have ended differently?

So, Same thing happens, Blue and Red accusing over Purple's dead body. However, you pipe up and say that the other crewmates should also listen to Red's side of the story before casting their votes. The other crewmates agree, and Red manages to convince them that the Impostor is actually Blue, so Blue is voted off, and it was indeed him.

Obviously the situation probably won't play out like this because AU public lobbies aren't that bright, and the meeting time might not be enough for this. But perhaps you can save one of your teammates lives, and maybe end one of your enemies'...

5. Don't be toxic

Don't be toxic.

6. Don't be an Impostor

Be assigned Crewmate role instead.

7. Try to fix sabotages as soon as you can.

This one is kinda obvious, but I decided to include it because one too many times have I lost games because "eh, someone else will fix it." and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Everybody likes to have an mechanical engineer among them, And like I said earlier, I lost a game for my crew too many times because I gave the responsibility of fixing the reactor to another crewmate. So I have decided to get that mindset out of that head. As soon as my task bar vanishes, or I suddenly become blind, or my screen turns red, I head over to wherever the red and yellow arrows bring me to. Plus, fixing a bunch of sabotages may get you trusted among the crew, and we all want to be trusted in this game.

8. Treat crewmates like family.

Yeah, this one seems kinda obvious and you might be starting to tell that I'm running out of things to say. But support your bean friends, Always watch them do visuals, stay in a group of people, and listen to what EVERYONE likes to say, because sometimes people need to vent, you know? And I don't mean the type of vent where you get exiled and cast away to your death if you're caught doing it, I mean vent as in when someone tells you how they feel about someone or something. Because everyone's favorite role isn't Crewmate or Impostor, it's Space Therapist.

Now that you wasted your time reading about things you already knew, I'm going to admit that I don't know how to END guides either. But you are now an excellent space detective, but more importantly, you're hopefully an excellent friend.
