Von M A H L W Ξ R K
Typically there are five roles on a CS:GO team:

  • Entry Fragger
  • Support
  • IGL (In game leader)
  • Lurker
  • AWPer
  • Baiter

These roles when used properly, will help your teams game play be more precise and help you to win rounds in the most efficient way possible.

Entry Fragger

An entry fraggers job is to go in first and get that crucial opening kill. A player that assumes the role of entry fragger has good crosshair placement, recoil control and generally is the most aggresive player on the team. Survive or not after entry he can provide crucial information to his fellow teammates.
Support

Support players "push with the entry fragger and provide cover" by using utility. The support player will trade kills if the entry fragger dies and will cover other lines of site. They also provide support by using utility to aid the push or to assist the entry fragger.
IGL (In Game Leader)

The in-game leader, or IGL for short, is the tactical mastermind behind the team. ... The IGL has to decide whether the team attacks A or B, if they rush or play it slow, and how much utility they will need to use. They direct their teammates and give instructions on how they should start the round.
Lurker

The Lurker of any team is the teammate that stays behind the main push of the team. The main task of the Lurker is to catch rotating CTs off guard as they move from one bomb site to the other. However the Lurker should always adhere to their IGL's strategy.
AWPer

Almost every CS:GO team has a player who is the designated AWPer. This player can effectively use the AWP to hold long angles and secure key picks. Teams will often build their economy around providing this player with an AWP because of the weapons pricey cost.
Baiter

The Baiter is NOT a role in CSGO. All I can say about the Baiter is, DON'T BE THIS GUY. If you are, you will lose friends fast and won't be part of any team for too long...
