Keep Mortars Ready

Omschrijving
Description
Colonists will keep mortars ready to fire at a moment's notice so you don't have to micro-manage them.

Adds a basic work type for colonists to man mortars automatically until those mortars are loaded and off cooldown. Colonists will not fire mortars unless manually commanded to man them.

Readying individual mortars can be toggled on and off.

Compatibility
  • Works with both reinforced barrels (those are reloaded already in vanilla) as well as classic mortar mode.
  • Not particularly compatible with existing saves, however it will work if you deconstruct and rebuild all your mortars.
  • Not compatible with Combat Extended! Likely incompatible with any non-vanilla mortars and potentially other mortar mods.

08/14/2024: Fixed bug where colonists just stand when there are no shells to load a mortar with.
03/19/2024: Updated to 1.5, fixed bug where pawns get stuck when a mortar needs a new barrel.

03/12/2022: Removed duplicate assemblies causing startup errors, double alerts, and double human operation choices.
03/11/2022: Re-fixed the bug where colonists continually attempt to ready a mortar when there are no shells available.
08/11/2021: Pawns now swap out shells that are no longer allowed in the mortar's settings. Added a more user-friendly error message when mortars built before enabling the mod are present. Fixed a bug where colonists continually attempt to ready a mortar when there are no shells available.

Robots from "Misc. Robots" are stuck endlessly rearming mortars, putting in and extracting the same shell again and again. Additionally, although I can't say it's due to this mod, but none of my mortars have the "Shells" inspector tab, so I can't configure the allowed shell types.

Has an issue for me where it won't work for any mortars made before the mod was added. Not sure if its worth a fix but anyone who has the issue you can easily just destroy and replace them with dev mode.

@homgr No, I don't think it's compatible. I don't think you would even need this mod if you have that one anyway.

This is a great mod for vanilla, but it is incompatible with Combat Extended. So if you are using CE, dont be an idiot like me and disable this mod.

Serious incompatibility with what I assume is combat extended, built mortars will have no barrels, be unable to uninstalled, and possibly crash your game.

This is not compatible with Combat Extended right now. It makes mortars crash the game and artillery from Vanilla Expanded wont load ammunition and can't target.
