My experience with GCG

My experience with the infamous server called Ghost Cap Gaming.

Chapter I : The First Encounter

At first I did not know that this server even existed until I was informed that someone was using " Zeddys " and " GFL " in their server tags to promote their server.
My first thought to this server was, " Wow the owner must be desperate if he/she is using other server's popularity to promote he/she's own server, he/she is literally admitting that his/her server is inferior when compared with other servers "

Then I was told that the owner did that in order to let players find the GCG server when they search up Zeddys or GFL. If the owner really wanted to do that why not add all the servers that is associated with Zombie Escape but only Zeddy and GFL?

This just shows that the owner is either a leech or an exploiter
Why leech or exploiter?

• He/She is literally using someone else's server to boost his/her own server
  
• Does not credit the servers that he/she is using as a stepping stone

But aside from that, I did not really care much about this server as I have already stopped playing Zombie Escape for a decent amount of time and I did not wanted to be involved in this matter.

Chapter II : The Questionable Decision

After the first incident of which the GCG (GhostCap Gaming) server used other servers to promote their own server, I have rarely heard anything about the GCG server aside from the settings in their Zombie Escape server was too easy and so on but nothing out of the ordinary.

Until one day I heard that one of my mods got banned from GCG, which to me was a huge surprise as he is one of my mods which I doubt he did something wrong. I wasn't told which one of my mods was banned which made me even curious as I have more than 15 mods.

To my surprise the mod which got banned from GCG was Detroid and the ban was permanent nonetheless. This seemed pretty ridiculous as Detroid is one of the more experienced and responsible person I've met.
Apparently, he was banned for being toxic in chat and trash talking server.
To my knowledge, he was simply criticizing the server and it was interpreted as trash talking by the owner.

With all due respect, this just shows how immature the owner is. If the owner can't even handle criticism from the players, how is the server gonna improve? Take Zeddy Gaming for an example, the owner is always criticized by his mods and players but he just brushes it off and tries to improve the server. Slowly but surely the server went from being absolute unplayable to being able to complete hard maps.
Even though there is more room for improvement but something that cannot be denied is that there has been improvement.

As this incident really stirred up my curiosity, I decided to join their Discord server to see what was happening.
Nothing really piqued my interest in the Discord server as I did not play on their server so I did not pay much attention to their matters.

Chapter III : The Sudden Warning

Nothing much really happened afterwards, all I had now was just confused and negative thoughts about the owner of GCG.

But all of that was about to change.
On 14th of July I saw a ping from the GCG Discord server and decided to check it out.



As the owner just announced that their Minecraft server was running again, I proceeded to enter their Minecraft server. This is probably the first or second time I've entered a server that is associated with GCG.

I joined the server at approximately 2am (GMT 8+) and got decent progress.
Nothing much really happened until around 5am, I noticed that one of the plugins in the Minecraft server was buggy and I went and DM the owner and asked him to fix the problem.

This is the first time I've messaged him.
Afterwards I went and slept cause It was getting late.

Around 9am, I woke up and took a look at my phone, the first thing that I was greeted with was this.

Being more confused than a chameleon in a bag of Skittles, I went and re-read the rules and checked which rule did I break. What even more confusing was that I wasn't even told what rule I broke which made things even more confusing for me. This also shows how irresponsible the person who warned me is. It's like banning a player without providing a specific reason and only stating that he/she broke the rules.
Now I wouldn't be warned if I din't break a rule yeah? Why not state what rule I broke so I can prevent that from happening in the future?

Chapter IV : The Knight in Shining Armor

Being extremely confused, I went ahead and asked in my Discord server about what I did was wrong.


I've read through the rules over and over again to see what I did was wrong.

This is my message history in the GCG Discord.

1. I've most certainly respected anyone in their Discord
2. My message history is literally me saying hi and 3 of the same emojis.
3. I've never leaked any information related to any players in their Discord.
4. I've never talked about political issues.
5. I've never used any sorts of exploits/glitches/bugs in their servers.
6. I've never tagged any one of their admins.
7. I've never message anyone from GCG aside from the owner which I asked him to fix a bug.
8. I've never promote anything in their Discord.
9. I've never advertise in their Discord.
10. English is literally my main language.
11. Huh?
12. ???
13. Okay?
14. Why would I impersonate someone from GCG?
15. Literally only said hi and used 3 emojis.
16. Read 15.
17. Pretty sure my account isn't anyhow new.
18. ????
19. Okay.

As I was getting even more confused after reading through the rules over and over again. This happened.

Chapter V : The Forbidden Actions

I was told by "NJOOSHY" that I was warned for giving a suggestion.

He proceeded to show me a screenshot of the rule #6.
Which to my end made me even more confused.

The only rule that mentioned anything about DMs was rule #7 and it's about harassing.

All of a sudden he brings up something that is unrelated to the topic and asks whether the rules are broken in my Discord server.

He proceeds to ask me a question that goes
" Do you think you are the only person who dm you "
which made matters even more confusing. He then proceeded to send a screenshot of his Discord.

Okay?

I literally have over 1k+ pings on Discord.
If he/she thinks that It's annoying to have that much pings on Discord, just don't join too many unnecessary servers. The number indicated the number of pings you've received from all the Discord servers that you are in.
I do not understand why he was complaining about the pings he/she receives when we were talking about the warning that I received.

All of a sudden he/she just tells me to stop being childish and get over with it.

Never once I said that specific term of " I did nothing ", instead I said " What did I do wrong ".
The only time I said those specific words was in the beginning of the year.

Chapter VI : The Ending

Even though he/she said he/she was done with the matter and wanted to clarify on the incident.
He/she proceeded to tell me to enforce my server's rules.

Huh?
Who are you to tell me how to manage my own Discord server when you can't even give me a proper reason to why I was warned.

After experiencing all of these incidents, my perspective on GCG just gets worse day by day. I do not blame the players for this as there are some good players. The only thing here to blame is the way the matters are managed.

If I were to be able to give a rating on the GCG experience, I would give it a -5 even though I have only been to the servers that are associated with GCG twice.

I can't tell whether I was in the wrong or the right.
Of course, If I was in the wrong, I would gladly apologize for DM-ing the owner to fix a bug in his servers.
