RMS Celtic 1910

Marren line was beginning to fall behind with all the new ocean liners from Cunard and White star so Marren line proposed to build 4 new ships in the Oceanic class these ships would become some of the largest in the world just behind Lusitania and Mauretania. This new class of ships would have the new gantry davits to save deck space and keeping nice sea views. The interiors would also be some of the grandest in the world with sweeping lounges and dining rooms and keeping a luxurious look. The ships would also accommodate 3 classes 1st, 2nd and 3rd the second ship in this new class would be RMS Celtic which was completed in 1910. After the Oceanic disaster the company was struggling but Marren line were confident that the second ship in their new class would bring back their reliable and safe reputation and so it did. RMS Celtic would have 2 new gantry davits installed so that in the case the ship was listing the 2 gantry davits on one side would have enough boats for all on board. She would also have her second cafe on the starboard promenade turned into a second restaurant for 1st class. She would go on to have a successful career serving in WW1 and the only ship in her class to survive WW1 then unfortunately being scrapped in 1928.
