Introduction

Piveet to all sparrows fans!

Today we’re going to talk about how to sparrow fly. There will be some theory and two binds that will significantly simplify the whole process.

Without any further ado, have a great read!

Sparrow flying

The main part of our motion will consist out of two parts: rotation and dodge.
Let’s start with a simple one. Holding Shift and A (D) simultaneously is enough to turn a sparrow in the air.



We will now add pauses at the rotation. They must be done when your sparrow is on its side. The vehicle will continue to turn, but the buttons shouldn’t be held.

I advise training sparrow flying on Nessus (Artifact’s Edge). There is a bunch of space for your attempts.

Let’s now look at dodges. Double pressing A (D) is enough to dodge on a sparrow.



But flying with these dodges:
a) Is difficult
b) Is stressful
c) Can’t be performed by me KEKW

So let’s just bind move left (right) to a mouse wheel.



And it’s so easy to dodge now that you won’t even spot the mouse wheel on the gif.



Finally, let’s replace breaks in the rotation with dodges. If a sparrow is on its right side, then we dodge to the left. If a sparrow is on its left side, then we dodge to the right.



We will repeat these actions until a sparrow runs out of energy. Then we will jump out of it and spawn a new one.

The theory is over now. I advise moving to practice and mastering this skill. Sparrow flying is not only joyful but useful for screenshots. You can’t sometimes get into certain places "legally".

By the way

Two random pieces of advice about sparrow flying:

• It’s better to use vehicle with Vernier thrusters or Always on Time sparrow (dodging spends 1/6 of energy instead of 1/4).
  
• It’s possible to control a direction of flight by choosing a moment to dodge. Thus, you can move faster in the horizontal plane.
