Starting out and choosing a place to make camp in RDR2
By captain sodium
If you are new and want a place to get your bearings and make a little money as you get used to the game, I recommend setting your camp location to West Elizabeth. Sure everyone will have their favorite spots. I recommend this area of the map for a few reasons but mostly because of one of my favorite animals in the game also making their home here, the mighty Bison!
Bison in the Great Plains of West Elizabeth are great for making money and generating quality meat for recipes (Prime Beef). The nearby town of Blackwater is close enough to make selling and shopping easy, it has a post office and stables, and there is enough interesting spots nearby to make it a good starting point. Legendary animals, outlaw encounters at regular intervals at Quakers cove and thieves landing also give access to money and a fence for selling and buying (at thieves landing speak to him standing by the dock)
Bison are not only good hunting and great resources, as you learn the game you will find that a a Perfect Bison Pelt can be used to create a "Provisions Satchel Upgrade". If you stay within the plains area where you find the bison you will be safe from predators. This makes it a good first spot to getting used to the game and helpful for new players. Be nice to other people, Have fun!

Thanks very much for reading my first basic guide, if you liked it, please consider giving it a thumbs up,
