Description
AS OF MARCH 7, 2022 THIS NOW REQUIRES EA26! THERE IS A LEGACY VERSION LINKED BELOW

Adds customizeable armor for the player. I'm well aware of SANAVY's version but I wanted to try and make one myself as an exercise. I thought I might as well release it to the public.

Damage multipliers are also fully customizeable, as well as how much damage the armor takes when you take a hit. There are three methods of repair, ammo bags/supply crates, Armor Plates or auto repair. They're all fully configurable within the mutator's settings.

The armor protection will also be only relative to how many armor points you have left. So for example if you take 50 damage and only have 5 armor points left the damage will be only reduced by 5.

This mutator's implementation is kind of hacky so expect some bugs.

Balance is a hidden value in the game that determines when you will be knocked-down.

This will conflict with mods that reduce health and balance damage in any way. Disabling friendly fire will work fine but if there's any form of damage reduction elsewhere, it will bug out. This is likely to cause problems with Spec-Op's hero armor feature as well. Incompatibility with Spec-Ops mode has been fixed as of 4.0.4

New Features! (09/09/2021)
  • Armor Plates have been added! Pressing the (configurable) keybind will open up your armor vest. Pressing once will just use one plate but holding the keybind will allow you to continually use until you either run out of plates or hit the maximum armor health.
  • You can get more armor plates via ammo bags and supply boxes.
  • An auto repair feature has also been added. You can configure how much armor health you recover per tick, as well as the maximum armor health allowed by the auto repair.
  • The old repair system can now be enabled or disabled.

Important: Please note that you are using Quick Throw, it must be at least version 1.6.0 as that addresses some compatibility issues between the two mods.

Armor Plates has some incompatibilities with other mods. I've listed the ones I know in the pinned discussion. Please understand that I may not have the time to fix all of these.

Very good then. Best wishes but maintain bug fixes and updates for future game's updates. This hud is really great as is already.

To be honest, that HUD (and every other one) will likely not receive any more feature updates outside of bug fixes. The framework they were made on is very old and a hassle to maintain and update. I'd like to work on other things first before making/remaking HUDs again.

Can you add a "Hide" option to mutator? I am asking that for MW CW Hud. Wished you could integrate it with the hud. However the game is still far from polishement and full release every patch or update may break the mod again. I am not a modder but i can imagin somehow that how it is difficult and time-consuming to make a good mod.

I have indeed tried resubbing to the mod. The mod version I see is 4.0.5. Also, I just tried the mod again today with a whole bunch of other mods and its been working fine. This has left me completely confused. I'll update you if I notice the same issue again. Sorry for wasting your time and thanks for the amazing mod!

Have you tried unsubbing then resubbing? What version of the mutator is showing up in the menu? I've tried it on its own just now and encountered no frame rate issues whatsoever. Any information could help.

That's an insane dip in FPS. Have you checked console logs if anything is being spit out there?

I tried enabling this mod by itself and it tanks my fps from a consistent 300+ to less than 10. I'm on the latest version of the game and I used to be able to use this mod with no problems. Its been a while since I last played ravenfield. Not quite sure what is going on but the issue definitely isnt my hardware or mod incompatibility. I'll try messing with the mod settings but I don't have much hope.
