Focus (Domination)

Description
Focus (later marketed as Domination) was created by Sid Sackson (A Gamut of Games, Beyond Competition) in 1963 and was one of the first winners of the Spiel des Jahres award. It's an abstract strategy game for 2-4 players that consists of maneuvering stackable playing pieces around a board to capture and control the opposing pieces. The rules of play can be learned in about five minutes.

The mod includes an in-game instruction book, scripting for automatic setup for 2, 3, or 4 players, and automatic handling of captured & reserve pieces.

This is an unofficial implementation; the physical game is currently out of print and only available through resellers.

Art credits:
  • Pawn design presumably by Daekor Designs. (Whitman Publishing produced the first commercial version of the game, but Daekor's later edition appears to be the first to use the current shape.)
  • Background image adapted from a photo by Sergej Majboroda and used here under a Creative Commons license.
  • Impact font, created by Geoffrey Lee, and Cambria font, created by Jelle Bosma, used here under Microsoft's font redistribution agreement.
  • All other custom art and assets created by rzemieslnik.
