my previous guide for reference

Since i don't wanna keep adding more and more to my old guide i thought i'd make a new one.

Tons of stuff got reworked and moved around and new zombie types (even though same old skins new designs and features like eyes and blades and junk).

At the time this is made this is the lvl 50 update and stuff is still getting moved around.

What's new?
Since the last time i updated my Previous Guide alot tbh. New zombies and mutant bosses. New weapons. New items, New tweaks and some buffs / nerfs to weapons.

Of course there is always the wiki you can check for more info:

https://deadfrontier2.fandom.com/wiki/Deadfrontier_II_Wiki

But of course some people are lazy or can't access it in-game and would rather have the steam overlay and a guide to help explain stuff. I've been guilty of that sorta stuff.

Well i should start listing stuff
New Zombies (common infected)
I'll add more pics as i get more screenshots in-game.
Do note while it may be non-special infected versions, in higher lvl areas the new zombie types are paired with the special infected. For example irradiated cysts or bloody bone zombies. They also spawn in lvl 25+ areas and can spawn anywhere from children to adults to mutant bosses.

Cysts:
Cyst zombies have large puss and saccs filled with other ♥♥♥♥ that's harmful to you. They can be shot at to stun them for a bit but doing so will cause them to expel a cloud that will damage you if you get too close to them. Killing them with a melee or chainsaw or physical non-gun attack like a kick will not make them explode.

Bones:
Zombies that spawn with bone shards sticking out of their bodies covering their head, legs, arms, and body (looks like enlarged ribs of a titan from DF1). These zombies will block bullets. While it is possible to shoot them to death, it's easier to just kill them with melee or avoid them / let someone else kill them. Melee, chainsaws, and kicks will do damage to them no matter what place you hit.

Bladed:
Zombies that spawn with 1 or 2 long blades for arms/hands. They're the equivalent to the reapers in DF1. The bladed zombies have a slightly larger hitbox. I do believe they also deal slightly more damage than non-bladed zombies excluding tentacle zombies (i'll have to verify this in-game later). They can still be attacked close range with melee (aside from mutant bosses). They only pose a threat if they can get a hit on you or in a large enough group.

Optic:
Zombies that spawn with eyes on their chests or forehead. Optic zombies can only take gun damage while their eyes are opened and in their eyes for most damage. Melee and chainsaws and physical kicks; however, can damage them even if their eyes are closed

Tentacle:
Zombies with tentacles proluding out of them. They have a massive increase in both damage and range like the tendril bosses. Melee, chainsaws, and kicks are highly unadvised unless you are sure you can take em down in 1 hit or incap them in 1 hit. Otherwise stick to ranged guns and keep your distance
New Mutant bosses
Aside from the mix and match new zombie variants like bladed and optic, some new actual zombies have been added:

-Hysteric=an invisible zombie that only becomes visible when getting closer or bumping into other stuff like zombies or people. Best strategy is to leave zombies incapped so it can bump into them and you can see it clearer or have someone else run around and wait and see when it appears. Unironically one of THE MOST annoying new zombies as you cannot tell when or where it is under normal circumstances

-Creep=a large fat zombie that "farts" or expels clouds that will damage you. Very fast and resilient as well. Keep distance away at all times and don't use melee for the cloud and physical damage can be too much.

-Twins=a tall basically hybrid of a spitter and stalker. Both heads can spit at you and it runs incredibly fast.

-Reaper=oh by god not the reaper. Not the DF1 common zombie version
it's more akin to a spider with 4 limbs.
Incredibly fast, strong, resilient, and worst of all IT POUNCES!
YEAH!
IT JUST JUMPS FROM ONE SIDE WHERE IT IS AT DIRECTLY TOWARDS YOU!!!!
High speed is needed to outrun it and taking absolutely damage of any sort is ill advised.
New Changes
The changes that affect gameplay from the update atm (subject to change):

-lvl 50=more grinding. XP gaining items and the overall grind just got a bit tougher. At the end of lvl 50 you get up to 10 new full lvl perks / skills to use
-5 more prestige lvls=see above. Also at the end of 10th prestige you get to have a max of 12 full lvl skills at lvl 5 mastery.
-new Assault Rifle weapon type=now they use rifle ammo.More powerful than smgs but require more $$$ sinks as well as stats to become on par.
-new items=things like higher lvl morphine and caviar will be found as you reach the lvl 35+ as well as new weapon and armor. Also new ammo for said new weapons. New stuff to be used for crafting as well.
-2 new skills: armorer and AR expert=armorer increases durability and armor damage absorption. AR expert does the same stat increases as any other gun expert (damage and accuracy)
-new books and recordings=grant xp. Books can be read. New recording makes it possible to listen to stories.

-new weapon buffs=aside from pistols; rifles, smgs, and shotguns got buffs. Smgs do more damage at the cost of lower firing speed (which can be a buff if you value accuracy). Shotguns do 33% more damage now. Rifles do 15% more headshot damage.
-nerfed chainsaws=sadly chainsaws bit the bullet HARD. They deal 50% less damage compared to before making them essentially less useful or more costly.

-new crafting system=atm about 10 new crafting items that can be made with things looted or found around the game. They cost the base items + varying amounts of money to craft. It was previously hinted or shown when the Easter update came in 2021 and you could craft the crusader helmet with 8 silver easter eggs.
-map split=map is split in half. Half the map is lvl 1-30. The other half (where the lvl 20-30 areas were) are now lvl 35-50 (greywood being lvl 35-40 now for example). Havernbrook hospital outpost is closer to lvl 15-25 areas nearby.
-missions reworked. Amount of them reduced but also the ones there give more xp and cash. Also new mission types for killing bosses and retrieving mission related items.
-worms and crows removed=p sure it happened long ago awhile back but i thought i'd put it here.
indirect buffs
Some indirect buffs and changes to how people play the game:

-fast learner=now is pretty much needed if you wanna advance faster.
-sneak=needed for higher lvl areas since bullets can now be negated by optics and bone zombies. Very VERY useful now compared to before.

-lumberjack and chainsaws out the window or gotta invest massive % damage to be useful again.
-Armorer needed to make armor useful especially in higher lvl areas where it can save your life.

-some items like candy rose in price since they're used for new craftable items.
-sticking to lower lvl areas for looting unless a perfect looting build since higher lvl areas have stronger zombies

-loot pretty much messed up.
-sticking to lower lvl areas for looting items.
How to lvl up faster
Probably what everyone is asking:

-doing outpost attacks yield 20-40% more xp in addition to other buffs (depending on outpost defender or guardian status).
-Gold membership grants xp bonuses as well as other bonuses. Not really needed but helps. still non GMs can still lvl up with right xp clothing items
-purple zone grinding for side xp and cash
-mission grinding
-looting
-killing zombies and bosses.
-reading stuff.
-Comer and Sons at lvl 50+ b/c they have a bunch of debuffs and tougher / harder hitting zombies BUT 100% more xp = a bit better if you plan on going in guns blazing.
That's about it for now
I'll add more later on.
