Aerial Warship Yamato

Description
Aerial Warship Yamato

Yamato

The glorious battleship Yamato, a ship with no introduction needed. The strongest armor, largest cannons, and colossal size, it was the most potent symbol of Imperial Japanese Navy's strength. It was ironic then, that it had a comparatively pathetic service history compared to her comparatively weaker contemporary vessels, and was doomed to a fate of having little to no impact on the outcome of the war.

However, in besiege, such a disastrous fate can be averted. With you at the helm of this legendary warship, you may potentially lead it to victory. In its besiege incarnation, rather than a seagoing vessel,

I have taken the liberty of converting it into an aerial warship instead. In real life, Yamato was equipped with 9x 460mm main armament and a slew of secondary weapons including 155mm, 127mm, and 25mm guns.

Unfortunately, I was unable to create the secondary armament faithfully to the 1945 version of the vessel (block count reasons), however what the besiege version lacks in firepower, makes up for in... well... firepower. My beseige aerial version of Yamato strips off the secondaries in favor of a heavy main armament of 9 40x power guns and 9 15x power guns.

Essential Ship information

Aim at targets above and below you by rolling the ship from side to side, or pitching the ship, as well as rotating the turrets. The skill floor for operating is quite high, but it is quite rewarding to pull off maneuvers that would surprise even aircraft.

The armor belt of the ship extends to the front of the A, and front of the X turrets. This mirrors the armor style of actual warships. Do not be alarmed if deck plates are damaged, for they are merely cosmetic.

The bomb that facilitates the “seppuku” function is your weak point. If shot there, the ship will sink.

The sides and underside of the ship is the most heavily armored section. If fired at, and unable to fire back, angle the belly armor towards the enemy, and watch their shells hopelessly bounce off.

Additional Notes

The warship guns do not depress or elevate, as complex gun systems in besiege, especially for this many guns, tend to both break, and cost high levels of blocks. For my airships, I tend to sacrifice the novelty of gun articulation, for actual combat effectiveness.

This warship is actually designed to be used in multiverse, however it unfortunately has a rather high block count of 483 due to the complexity of Yamato’s superstructure. The airship controls are tuned to operate at optimum at around 20-30% however, it can work higher. The airship also acts/controls more as a “really fat aircraft” than a ship per say.

I actually have many many more airships that I plan to upload, however I am bad at using the workshop.

If you don’t play Multiverse, then you should try sometime! I would be happy to play with more people, especially those interested in ships!
