Skull King (2021) - Scripted

Description
This is an updated version of Skull King and is fully scripted (play and scoring). The 2021 edition includes rules for up to 8 players and always includes the mermaids. The White Whale, Kraken, Loot cards, and pirate abilities are set aside as "Advanced Content".

Thank you! And yes, the rulebook has gone through many changes actually. Let you know if I run into any more minor discrepancies!

@Kagutaba: Interesting! I had no idea that rule changed. I just checked the latest rulebook, and sure enough, it states: "The next trick is led by the player who would have won the trick". I went back and checked the rulebook I had from years ago and it said: "The next trick is led by the player to the left of whoever played the Kraken." I've fixed this to be in line with the new rules. I also fixed an issue with a loot played on a trick with the White Whale and only special cards. If no number takes the trick, it should be discarded (like the Kraken), instead of going to the player who played the White Whale.

Minor query: could you check the rules for Kraken? I believe that the person who WOULD have won the trick would lead next; this means the person playing Kraken should never end up being the lead. However, I noticed that Graybeard would be announced in chat as the lead after he plays Kraken. I've only been able to test this at two players and no other player count. Cheers!

This mod is really THE way to play Skull King online. Thank you!

@Kagutaba, I've added a scoring option for Rascal's Scoring without the optional Cannonball rules. As it happens, I had already done some of the work for it, but just hadn't finished. It should be good to go, let me know if you encounter issues.

Hi, still loving this mod and your new additions! Any chance you could allow Rascal's Scoring without the optional grapeshot/cannonball rules? Cheers!

@reddaltoids Great job on the mod! Everything seems to work great; including Graybeard's Tigresses defaulting to Escapes. Thank you!

@reddaltoids You are too fast! I've yet to test out your Graybeard, but I will find a friend ASAP.

From my understanding, when Graybeard wins a trick, he simply leads the top card of his hand (exactly like how he plays the top card in his hand when going second without caring about following suit). This 'top' card is essentially a random card from his hand and does not refer to the 'highest ranking' card. Additionally, he always plays Tigress as an escape. Resuming clockwise order is perfect.

Thank you for this, I will give your update a few goes and tell you if I discover anything!

@Kagutaba I've just added the Two-Player Rules / Graybeard's Ghost. When he follows, he always plays second, but when he leads, the rulebook seemed a bit ambiguous. As it is, play will always continue clockwise. If you think it should work differently, let me know.

This script makes the game such a breeze! Thank you so much!

Will you kindly consider writing a script for Graybeard who appears in the "Two-Player Rules" on page 21 of the rulebook? He always goes second, and always plays his top card regardless. I did try to manually play Graybeard in my two-player game, but quickly realised that the current script has to have each trick won by a human player in order to proceed.
