turns take progressively longer because each and every plane (especially void and hades) has more and more random spawns that join in and have their movements every turn, adding a few bystanders in a game often even makes many die randomly walking into them.
Me and a friend playing with it on for Co-op, whenever I enter the realm map for Elysium I get FPS/response issues, year 15-ish he starts lagging. This is not normal, my computer is a potato, but, this has always been a series that I never had issues with due to how low intensity it is.
Tested it solo, after 5-10 years the load time for AI movement starts taking longer.
Year 15 it's causing the game to freeze on turn-load screen, then continue after a few seconds.
Year 20, the wait time is about 20-30 seconds.
Not sure exactly what's causing it, but maybe tweaking things like, give them negative Gold income, say, so they skip over all possible recruitment of anything because 0 gold, since the AI looks at all options it thinks it should have by then, until it gets something or it doesn't, based on how far into the game it is.
Or make a 1 hp mobile secondary commander, so it can, and then cannot travel so stops trying.
Regardless, there is no fix. You probably need to start a new game.
