Radiant Reshade Preset for Kenshi

Description

This mod is a personal custom Reshade preset i made especially for Kenshi. It took hours of testing to get exactly what i wanted (see the further description). Screenshots don't really do it justice, i tried but trust me it's wayyyyy more impressive when you install and test it. Don't be afraid by installation, it really takes a few minutes, go for it mates ... really ! It's worth it, Reshade is a beast software, almost perf free and improve greatly your game graphics. THIS MOD WON'T BE INSTALLED JUST WITH SUBSCRIBING, FOLLOW THE EXTRA STEPS, TAKES ONLY FEW MINUTES.

Okay, first ... yeah i know there is a very popular Kenshi Reshade mod called "Kenshi 2 style". I tried it and found it very cool, the cell shading effect and all ... really make it a whole new experience. But ! I quickly felt annoyed by the bad avatars/artifacts appearing in some places or on characters, and the way it changes too much the original experience ... I felt like betraying Kenshi dev's. So, I wanted to make reshade of mine that really give the best of the game while staying fidel the more i could to its vanilla atmosphere.

  • Sharper graphisms (now you can see these textures very well)
  • Less blurry/fogy feeling (/cry finally !)
  • Red/orange atmosphere slightly toned down (it was honestly a bit too much, almost giving me headaches)
  • darker nights & blacks (Oh hell yes !)
  • Slight HDR touch (yes again !)
  • Slight Outline (very very discreet, just to see better the object edges since there is a weakness on that particular point in Kenshi. Good side effect is that you will be able to see further thanks to it, can be switched off easily in effect menu if you don't agree)
  • UI/Menu Gain benefits of all the previous ! (there is even a small see through)

Follow the steps with the screenshots i took ages to make for you ! They are at the end of this mod's screenshots and after you subscribed inside the mod folder "2515604013" located in \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\



You can find all my mods by searching "Radiant" in steam workshop, nexus, or civfanatics, which is a recurrent word in all my mod's tittles.

Even if they represent hundreds of working hours, I'm sharing my mods for free like most of mod creators. But deep down I'm really hoping you to do that little extra thing that would help me a lot : joining any of my pages (patreon, facebook, instagram). Just that really! Don't feel obliged to give something, with Patreon there is indeed a free option that grants you basic news/content and it will only take few seconds of your time. That being said I'm an artist irl and I sometimes struggle to put my personal projects on the saddle. By giving a little something or joining my ranks you can trigger a course of actions/reactions that might end up gathering more people around, thus helping me building the motivation and means to create more stuff to appreciate.

:D por fin puedo usar esos mods que estan sobre iluminados gracias Radiant al final me anime activarlo quedo mejor de lo que se ve en las fotos :D !! por alguna razon mejoro mis FPS de 7 ha 12 :steamhappy: aviso con 7 me corria muy bien igual siempre un genio radiant !!

it's mods like this why i need a better PC. as other comments say, reshades which add outlines especially seem to be the cause. i also made my own modification of kenshi 2 reshade and the results were similar. 10 degrees hotter, way more resource usage. I'm on last generation gaming laptop and it's just too much.

mods like this SHOULD be considered by the devs however as optional graphic features in the base game, for those with higher end PCs. it really feels like how the game should look, even if our older PCs can't handle it. i'd argue a minimum of 4gb memory dedicated graphics cards. i have 2gb and 16gb overall RAM and it's just not enough. it runs, but it's slower, hotter, longer loading, and definitely risking a crash in high water/fog environments. there's nothing modders can do- even with SCAR's graphical fixes and texture dropping mods which are anti-thetical to the goal here. we just need better PCs

I downloaded the reshader and followed all of the steps, but now the game crashes on me immediately when I boot up the game. Has anyone else experienced this?

My CPU core temps ran about 10 degrees F hotter with this. Sorry not worth it.

I am going in holidays from the 02/08 to the 14/08. Until then i will be unactive on steam and won't be able to answer you, create, update mod or fix anything you find. @Spinalfluids Not really because it's linked to the small outline accentuation. Try to remove that effect, dont remember the exact name sorry, if that still please you (but i really think this is needed) then you are all good to go !
