Ascensus [1st solve: lapicidas]

Descrição
Here's a very difficult chamber for hardcore portal players. Creativity is the key to success, so expect moves you haven't seen before. The map includes three main puzzles and you need to think outside of the box to solve them. Some timing is required, but advanced techniques like bunny hopping, cube throwing and wallstrafing are not required and should not be used.

Thanks to im-here for playtesting <3 A lot of his feedback went into the puzzles.

-laser damage is off
-targeting laser cubes are enabled
-savepoints added (F6 is still your best friend!)

WARNING!:
This map is evil and includes angled lasers in a complex setup and parts of the solution will not be "elegant" by today's standards. The puzzle requires precision and timing and you really have to use your surroundings in uncommon ways to find a solution that feels comfortable. That could be standing on a cube for better vision or paying attention to the sound. The solution is hard to execute if your preparation is not precise enough. But it's easy to execute once you know the details and i can reproduce the solution with 100% success. No ninja/physical skills like quick turns, quick aiming are needed. It can be solved calmly with only precision and strategic planning. But it really pushes portal to its limits and is only recommended for absolute portal maniacs that like to spend some time suffering.

So lapicidas' solution for reaching bridge 2 was one of the others I found but I thought it was a little glitchy since it has the platform acting through glass .
I probably spent the longest time on that step. I originally tried the solution in my video but rejected it because there wasn't enough time. Eventually I realised you could use the vertical platform again to buy time like in bridge 1. Even more eventually (while recording the video) I realised that you can use exactly the same first cube placement as bridge 1, which simplifies setup a lot .
It took me forever to realise how to reach the floor button near the entrance.
I had a little different way to get all cubes upstairs. But that wasn't too hard either way .
Also: wow I really wish I wasn't getting hit by the lasers. Don't know why that wasn't working for me.
Congrats to you both.

What the hell man? No one told me about this and I haven't been playing for a few years now. Just got to it now.
Awesome map! 👍
This took me like 20 hours or so to solve and I made my solution video with no hints or spoilers. I'll watch lapicidas' video next.
It took so long to solve that I had to re-solve it for making the video. 😆
I've added my spoiler-filled thoughts about the map in the description of my video.
If people are still playing maybe I'll make another map too. 😅
My solution

I was afraid that you found another method and of course you can stack three cubes :D I blocked that part. Anyways besides that every setup for the 4 main puzzles is inteded. Well done :)

The solution is split into two videos.
The first shows my way in the large chamber: https://youtu.be/xHBPjMg4-zM
I played without cheats like fast play or the like and therefore it takes more than seventeen minutes.
The second shows the solution in the last room: https://youtu.be/B77zNbK2EBg

Sure, go ahead but speaking in plural makes me nervous 😬

If you name me in the title as the first solver of the puzzle, I would of course like to prove that and ask you to let me record the video(s). And please excuse my harsh words, I was really annoyed because i had set the setup for the solution several times in the last room - admittedly not precise enough because there were so many other options. I agree that now after the update the basic setting is relatively clear and you can take your time for the fine-tuning (difficult enough ;-). Speaking of updates: there are now other options in the large chamber, I will record my preferred ones.

I'm glad you made it now :) Thanks again for sticking with it and giving helpful feedback.
The current layout makes the laser setup pretty obvious and its more about finding the correct cube position inside the funnel. Any deviation from a 90° angle will add up after every loop so the initial cube position is important. I agree there is no long term solution or perfect loop but since the setup can be replicated in a few seconds i feel comfortable with the final layout. I will record a complete playthrough.

But I'll keep my thumbs up because I like the whole map, except of this fucking last room.

Solved. After the last update, there are about a million fewer possibilities for trying. Of course, I had already tried the solution position countless times because it was the most logical way to reach all recipients. But even now, after all other possibilities have been ruled out, it is extremely difficult to find the exact position of the laser and portals. Every millimeter different can be decisive - you only try that out if you are sure that the basic position has to be right (and not if the entire room is portal-capable). Then it goes on - if you have the exact positions and the cubes at the exact distance in the funnel - then they turn very minimally and so the whole solution is gone again because a receiver is no longer properly hit, mostly the moon. The basic idea of this puzzle is very good, but the mechanics do not allow a precise solution on long term.
AND THEREFORE THE WHOLE THING IS A BIG POT OF SHIT!
Even when you've made it, you feel ripped off.

Thanks that you tried again :) Im getting used to beemod now and added single portal surfaces. That makes the complete solution way smoother and more intuitive.
About the last part... I changed the room a little bit so the lasersetup feels more natural. Im not willing to give a concrete hint unitl someone found the solution but i can tell that the 1x1 grid is just a safety net and has no other use.
