RENFE 241-2200 (Atomicas)

In the mid-1930s, the MZA planned the purchase of new locomotives based on its most advanced models (the 1400 and 1700 series) adapting them to the new technical innovations that had emerged at the time. In this way, the 1800, 2400 and 2700 series were designed. However, the economic situation combined with the outbreak of the Civil War caused delays in these projects, resulting in only the 2400 and 1800 series locomotives being delivered before the MZA was dissolved in 1941.
In this way the locomotives of the 2700 series, heirs of the 1700 of the MZA, were taken up again after the war, building the prototype, the 2701 (241-2201 in RENFE) between 1943 and 1944. This model, presented the faired dome over the boiler, characteristic of the first units of the series, as well as a High Capacity tender used by the MZA, in addition this first unit was painted in black with only the sleepers of the locomotive and tender in red. Among the innovations incorporated into these locomotives were the ACFI superheater, the Kylala Kylchap type double exhaust and Lentz valve distribution, improvements that would later be used in the 242F-2000 Confederacion.
Finally, the 57 locomotives were delivered to RENFE between 1944 and 1952, divided into two batches, between which we find some differences such as the sandboxes or the smoke-raising plates. The first subseries (up to 241-2222) was assigned entirely to the Madrid-Atocha depot, taking charge of the express trains to Barcelona, ​​the east and Andalusia, making the series gradually be assigned to other depots such as Barcelona-Pueblo Nuevo and Cordoba-Cercadilla. As for the second subseries or batch, they were assigned to other depots such as Mora la Nova, Leon or Alicante. Between 1953 and 1956 the entire series was fueled and as electrification progressed they were transferred from depots throughout the country, finding by the end of the 60s, the series assigned to depots such as Miranda de Ebro, Mora la Nova, Lleida or Zaragoza.
Between 1971 and 1975, the entire series was scrapped, except for 2238, originally intended for the Vilanova Museum, but never exhibited there, being moved on several occasions until finally in 2012 it was transferred to the Railway Museum of Mora la Nova, where it has been located ever since.
This Mod adds the 241-2200 series locomotives known as Atomicas or Bonitas to the game, with multiple decorations: from the prototype model to the latest fuelized locomotives. As well as fully configurable decoration assets.
This Mod has been fully updated for January 2025, including completely new models, fixed lights and sounds, and new variants included. Some of the assets existing in older games may appear as white cubes in the game, so it is necessary to replace them with the new assets.
