Harder Claims

Description
It is checked for 1.14, but, almost surely, it will work with any game version that doesn't change Duty lifepath radically.

The mod makes the claim fabrication task 10 times slower.

It stops the claim-pressing machine, especially for rulers, which country is already large, because their bishops need to increase relations and convert religion, so they are hardly to afford 10–20 years of their bishop work on claim fabricating.

These rulers should use ducal de-jure claims, marriages, guests with claims and religious wars for expansion. Moreover, generally they and their family already have claims.

But small countries, for that all of this are harder, don’t need to convert and work on inner relations, and thus have a chance for this cheat-expansion.

It is not as fast, as in the vanilla, so you can play as a count or a duke for 50—100 years, not becoming a mighty king in first or second generation.

In addition, the mod shifts “Meritocracy” to the end of Duty lifepath.

So, you cannot claim liege titles, when your ruler is 20 years old and just starting his life as a steward. He must have an experience and an authority to do this.

Also, this perk is rather situational, and it’s very strange to see it in the first step of a lifepath. But in the end it is OK.

For being useful for kingdoms and independent duchies too, it now gives a small relations and taxes bonus from cities. This way, big countries get a considerable wealth surplus from it, even they cannot use its claim-effect.

Some of overhaul mods change the "00_stewardship_3_duty_tree_perks.txt" file, so, you need to place this mod after them to get its effect.

Love the mod! Thanks for the update!

Just a thought/request id like to make that might seem at odds with the idea: I've always wanted a mod to have some sort of "Ancestral Claim" mechanic. It's always seemed ahistorical that after, 2 generations, a dynasty that's ruled for centuries loses all rightful claim to a title. Maybe if your dynasty is in the Title History, you could (at incredible cost/prerequisites) regain a claim to it.

@ubermann You can just delete one of two modded files manually. Or load another mod after this one.

Very nice mod! Can you upload a version, that doesn't change lifestyle paths, so it doesn't interfere with mods that also change those?

Had my first run with it and it's almost unbelievable how much this improves the game.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for :)

by the way, you can make the mod appear up-to-date in launcher so our autistic ck3 brains wont explode, but thats just a sidenote.
