Introduction

if you haven't played for a long time actually there is a lot of warp drive mods released recently. Who cares?
Don't watch this video it is inaccurate and outdated fast, but I put it there anyway

Interstellar warp drive standalone

It is abandoned, it lacks of customization, it is underpowered, so you have to time warp for 50 days to charge ur warp drive, don't use it. Last time I use it is broken. However, it only takes little ec (100 ec) and simple to use

unzip it and put it anywhere in gamedata folder. Remember install b9partswitch. Switch warp drive mass by right click it in vab/sph

As of Mar 25, 2022, the mod author manages to fix the warp drive upgrades, with an inbuilt b9partswitch config file, making it a viable warp drive mod.

blueshift

A recently developed warp drive mod by the wild blue guy, it has the coolest effect but the learning curve is quite high. But you also get some quality of life tool like a button to put you into circular orbit using Graviolium.

The warp drive use Graviolium. But Graviolium is tedious to get. You get it from mining asteroid or comet. However, if you also installed Kerbal Flying Saucers, you can get it from planets and moons.
You can install extra part to increase warp drive power but the resource chain is hard to understand.

It also include jump gate akin stargate the tv show. It uses few bit of Graviolium.

trek drive

Engage!
As the name suggests, it is a mod based on Star Trek's. Actually, whole part suite is based on the rocket/phoenix warp shuttle in above video. Speed is 1c atm. Operation is simple but you can only use resource included in the warp core. No way to mine the resource atm. Currently, the part is hard to mix and match with stock parts/modded parts.

Interstellar extended's warp drive

It is a warp drive part of the interstellar extended mod. The learning curve is due to the mod's power system. Once you figure it out the warp drive isn't hard to use. It takes the electricity power generated from the mod's reactor, which is not hard to get very large amount for max warp speed. It includes three size warp drive to reduce electricity power requirement. Also, it has 10000c max speed, useful to travel to far star systems. Fun fact, console's cheating maybe not work to get pass the electricity requirement due to it also check how much power you capable to generate sustainably with reactors.

USI's warp drive

USI's warp drive is also simple to use, but come with limited customization. You only have two types, three sized warp drives, different size give a different sized warp bubble and different type give different max warp speed. Everything near but outside the warp bubble would be destroyed (e.g extended solar panel attached to a spacecraft)You can warp to 100c if I recall correctly. SImple operation and only take ec. Beware if you have near future suite! it increase ec usage by the factor of 15, if I read the config correctly.

under interstellar extended, the electricity cheat actually does work, for me at least. Maybe I have an older version of the mod, but it still uses megajoules rather than stock electricity.
