Any year start - easy way

A simple app to easy edit you save game to allow you to start in any year.

Requirements

The only requirements for you as a player is to have lastest .NET Framework just in case.

Process

Create a new save game with any map you want to play on, use any settings you like (even year).

Launch this program, hit "Open File" and locate your save game
(<steam folder>\SteamApps\common\SovietRepublic\media_soviet\save\<name>). Select "header.bin" and hit "open".

Now in main window you will see a year record for selected save game as well as related hex code (this is for you, my nerdy comrades).



In only active text box write any year you want to play (I don't recommend to go beyond 1930 as you might end with no vehicles available) and hit "save file". Hex field will change to your year and this is indication that everything worked.

As a bonus it automatically resets your economy in case you have any progress, so consider to backup your "stats.ini" if you want to keep it or it will be regenerated.

Now you can start your game and play edited save.

I was thinking that this would adjust pricing according to year, but i suppose that's not the case. I could have swore I saw someone on YT do a 40's start and prices for things were much lower than they would have been on a 60's start...

Man, this is awesome. About recommendation "not to go beyond 1930": There are horse drawn carts mods available since 1900 and it's enough for any need you have in game. If you want self-propelled vehicles, the earliest i've seen is Ford T (again in all possible variants) available since 1917, so picking the year of Revolution seems like perfectly reasonable choice.
