Descrizione
This mod replaces the roman families with the two main political factions of Ancient Rome: the “Optimates” and the “Populares”.
Some historians describe the political struggles in the Roman Republic as a conflict between two political "parties": the Optimates and the Populares. The Optimates were conservatives who wanted to secure the power of the senate. On the other hand, the Populares sought popular support against the dominant power of the senate.
Which side do you support? :)

The mod is compatible with patch 18 (Power and Politics). It's is lo longer compatible with the most recent patches and I will not update it because this mod lost much of its relevance after the patch 19 and patch 20 (ancestral update).

This mod still works. which is crazy cause it says it is outdated.I wish to understand why and maybe add more awsome mods claimed to being outdated

@Gnaeus Cornelius Scipio Asina - yes, it still works: many mods that are said to be "out of date" still work.

this mod works? My mod manager says it's out of date. Can anyone confirm?

But I never find the Optimates gaining any power. I can never recruit generals or new characters from that factions The Optimates should be a large opposing force to the Populares, they are the ones resisting changes put forward by the Populares. in every single game I have started, they are the laughing stock of the senate. I'm more likely to have a civil war with the non-partisans than the opposition!

And when I want a big partisan civil war like real late rome, that just doesn't fit my purpose. I'd rather having an unrealistic two party system than having a fight with the 'Viri Collegium';

May I note that the screenshot shows power share as exactly 47 vs 53.

For anyone curious, the mod still works. Also, Technocratic Archfiend - there have always been more than two factions in the games political system (it just doesn't appear that way in the screenshot because it only shows the two topmost political factions), and it makes sense to have them, because even in real Rome besides the optimates and the populares there would have been people outside of them.

Heya, so what update is the screenshot from? I'm rolling back my Rome 2 to play it, but every time, In patch 17, patch 18 and Patch 19 all have Four Parties, including the viri collegium and etc. I really want just two factions because the two non partisan parties keep gaining major dominance and my counterpart is always hugely dwarfed in power and I have no way to stop them growing in power unless I only recruit from my own party, however that doesn't stop my counterpart party never offers generals to recruit.

As long as I know, CiG campaign doesn't have family tree. Perhaps this is the solution for this mods.I will try to implement that. However I cannot promisse anything (I dont own CIG...)

Maybe add an obsolete tag, or abandoned tag to let other know it's no longer supported?

Sorry, ignore Crassus, that was a mistype.

Not to diss the new update, I always wanted family trees, but I want the classic battle of Caesar vs Pompey vs Crassus, or alternate figures taking those places. I would like a battle of Ideologies and fight for who controls the senate and dictates Rome.
