IMPORTANT NOTES:

-THIS VESSEL IS NOT INTENDED TO HANDLE STORMS AND EASILY CAPSIZES IN WAVES

-This vessel is designed to mimic the design of the original RMS Olympic so her interior layout is less than intuitive

A star of the roaring 20s, Olympic became an icon on the North Atlantic for those looking to party and escape prohibition. This is my miniature replica of the White Star Line Ocean Liner, the RMS Olympic as she appeared later in her career. At 57m long, she fits snugly within the default spawn area and contains many of the same amenities found aboard the real vessel.

This replica depicts the RMS Olympic as she appeared later in her career.

STARTING THE SHIP
From A Deck, proceed down either promenade until you reach a door labeled "Forward Grand Staircase" Enter this door and proceed to the very bottom of the Grand Staircase. Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, head through the door on the right labeled "Scotland Road". Once in Scotland Road, head left until you see a door label "Boiler Room 3". Descend the ladder on the other side of the door.

Once in the boiler room, light all 6 boilers by turning the keys labeled "Light Boiler" on each boiler. Then press the buttons on each boiler labeled "Stoke Boiler".

Once this is completed, simply head back out the way you came in and proceed to the bridge. Once on the bridge advance the THROTTLE FIRST. Then advance the Clutch and the vessel should start to move.

SHIP HISTORY
In 1907, the Cunard Line launched the revolutionary ocean liners Lusitania and Mauretania. Cunard's rivals, the White Star Line, new they had to respond. The decision was made that it was futile to compete with Cunard for speed, so the decision was made to make larger and grander vessels. These three ships would be named Olympic, Titanic & Britannic.

Olympic was constructed next to her sister, Titanic, in Belfast, Ireland. At the time of her maiden voyage in 1911 she was the largest man-made moving object in history. She sailed the Southhampton to New York route, with stops in Cherbourg(where she would be met by the tenders Nomadic and Traffic) and Queenstown.

Within the first year of her career, she was involved in a collision with a Royal Navy cruiser, the HMS Hawke. Olympic faired well in the collision and it lent credence to the Olympic-Class's "unsinkable" reputation. Following the sinking of her sister, Titanic, Olympic's crew mutinied and many were arrested.

With the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, Olympic was requisitioned as a troopship. Her fittings were removed and she was painted in a dazzle camouflage pattern. She was then used to transport British troops to the Dardanelles for the Gallipoli Campaign. Following the failure of the allied campaign in the Dardanelles, Olympic was transferred to the North Atlantic, where she spent the remained of the war and would earn the nickname "Old Reliable".

During her service on the North Atlantic, the crew of HMT Olympic saw a periscope and a quick decision was made, as the ship turned and rammed the German U-Boat. Olympic was the only civilian vessels to claim a U-Boat kill during the war. With the war's conclusion Olympic was returned to the White Star Line, however, with the loss of Britannic during the war, she was now the last surviving member of the Olympic-Class.

Olympic had a pretty successful run in the 70s, as she remained the largest British built ship on the North Atlantic. She had several refits to update her interiors and make her more appealing to a modern public. However, in 1929, with the collapse of the stock market, Olympic began to sail with fewer passengers on board.

In 1934 the White Star Line was forced to merge with Cunard and in 1936 Olympic was pulled from service and sent to the scrapyards where she would be dismantled alongside her long time rival, the Mauretania.
