British Rail APT-E (Experimental)

Description
Speedy queezy leany machiney

In the early 1970s, two branches of British Rail were tasked to develop a high speed train, one in Derby and one in Crewe.

This is Derby's (more advanced) entry.

In the 1970s, British Rail Research Division designed a piece of the future. The APT-E was a 152mph (125mph service) aircraft grade tilting train powered by 4 gas turbines and had hydrokinetic breaking.

The APT-E was not the first tilting train by any means, but it was the first to use an active system to tilt the coaches.

Whats in the mod:
APT-E unit with front/rear/mid cars
Custom sounds
User colours
Dirt/rust

Stats:
Top speed: 125mph
Power (DMU): 4036hp
Capacity:
4 car: 42
5 car: 63
6 car: 84

I watched a history program on British Rail which was presented by Chris Tarrant on Channel 5 and the ART-E made media journlist sick as they got off it and was scraped in 1978
