HMCS Vancouver

Description
History
The Victoria classes of heavy cruisers were first laid down in 1940 to further increase safety in Pacific passages against Japanese capital ships and aircraft menace. 6 were planned but only 4 ever set sailed:
HMCS Victoria
HMCS Vancouver
HMCS Kelowna
HMCS Abbotsford
All were originally armed with 4 x 3 305mm/50 Mk8 American made guns and turrets, borrowed from the USS Alaska project. However by the 8th year of the war, the Japanese capital ships; Yamato, Musashi, Shinano, and the expanding Axis fleet posed major threats to Allied convoys on all fronts, and required major retrofits; increasing armour belt size, adding extra aa mounts, hull changes, and replacement of 12 305mm/50 Mk8 guns, with 16 356mm/45 Mk7 to both increase the ships’ alpha strikes while still being modest; preventing the ship of capsizing by too powerful guns. These improvements made the Victoria class ‘heavy’ cruisers very formidable even against capital ships by the likes of Iowa and Yamato, and made the ships very reliable as artillery platforms for ground units. All of the ships survived the war and even served onward for 86 years before being preserved as museum ships, each accruing 162 years since sea trials.

Note from Creator
Another one of my fictional design while still hopefully capture the design style of the country of origin. I’ve actually built this ship before; in naval craft although as you guys might know, Naval Craft has its... limitations, notably the block part where parts cannot clip the hitboxes of others, and a more poly game feeling which is a charm in and of itself but I’ve wondered how this class of ships would look in a more detailed manner, so I’ve built it in NavalArt and my God, does it look pretty, and somewhat more realistic too, pulling designs from Hood, Duke of York, Iowa, and mashing them all together to come up with HMCS Vancouver.

Hello Jelybaca, got something to ask about simpleplanes. It seems like someone stole your Boeing 757-200's Cockpit and claim that they asked for your permission.
