The Talos Mistake

The White-Gold Concordat that ended the war between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion included among its stipulations the banning of the worship of Talos as a god, and that made me think: would Tamriel be affected in some way by this change in the pantheon, and how could this be shown in the game? This mod is my answer. Once installed, there will be two changes in your game:

1) Shrines of Talos now have a 35% chance to fail at applying its blessing, to represent that Talos is losing power as the number of his believers dwindle. My first idea was to give it a 50% chance of failure, but that was too much considering we're in Talos' homeland and how resistant the nords are to this change. If you still consider it too much, the shrine inside the Temple of Talos in Windhelm has been untouched and will work perfectly.

2) There's a chance now to find unblessed amulets of Talos as random loot. These "barren" amulets are less valuable (10 gold instead of 20), but more importantly: they cannot be enchanted either. They're just useless jewelry.


IMPORTANT:

- The mod works by applying a custom script to the shrines. As scripts are saved by the game in your savegame, you'll have to start a new game for this mod to work correctly. Likewise, uninstalling it and then loading a game that used it is not recommended either.

- Two leveled lists are modified: 'LItemSonsSymbol10' and 'LItemReligiousSymbols'. If you have other mods that modify the same lists you'll need to merge the changes with Wrye Smash or a similar tool.
