Meet the Frost-Hammers, the latest in my racially-diverse family series.
The two oldest brothers, Wulf and Tyrus, are half-Nord, half-Imperial. Lorik and Malek, the Altmer twins, were adopted as children, as was Ra'Shaad, the Khajiit youngest brother. And then there's Lurks-In-Shadows, Ra'Shaad's Argonian wife.
Backstory: Nord warrior Baldir Frost-Hammer met his Imperial wife, Anna, when both were members of the Companions. After their wedding, the couple moved to Windhelm, where Anna gave birth to twin sons, Wulf and Tyrus. Two years later, the couple took in a pregnant Altmer woman who was exiled from Alinor because she worshipped Talos. The woman, Malynne, gave birth to twins. She named them Lorik, after her husband (who died during the trip to Skyrim) and Malek, after her father. After naming her boys, Malynne asked Baldir and Anna to raise them. Before the couple could agree, Malynne died. Three years after adopting Lorik and Malek, Anna found a Khajiit cub abandoned outside the gates of Windhelm. The cub had a note attached to his blanket with the name Ra'Shaad on it. Anna brought the cub home and introduced her sons to their new brother.
As adults, the brothers proved their loyalty to Ulfric Stormcloak by saving his life from a would-be assassin. Ulfric rewarded the brothers by giving them leadership of their own guard patrols. Ra'Shaad's patrol didn't return one night, so his brothers went out to find him. Unable to find their brother, the siblings returned to Windhelm, only to find out Ulfric and his guard were captured and brought to Helgen for execution.
The next day, Ra'Shaad returned to Windhelm, but as a vampire. He explained what happened to him and introduced his brothers to his wife, Lissie, an Argonian vampire who worked on the docks. When Ulfric returned to Windhelm, he welcomed Ra'Shaad, his brothers and Lissie into the rebellion.
