Lancer RPG Table

Description
It is 5016u, and the galaxy is home to trillions. At the core of humanity’s territory there is a golden age, but outside of this newly won utopia the revolutionary project continues.

Lancer is a hopeful tabletop RPG about people in giant robots fighting to make the galaxy a better place. If this is your first time hearing of it I highly recommend watching Dragonkid101's intro to Lancer, or taking a peek at the book which is free!

Welcome to the origional version of my custom Lancer mod! This version's map loader is broken, and a few other features are broken. Check out the new version [Coming Soon!]

I tend to do a feature list for my tables, and this will be no exception. That said, to get a really good idea about how this table works you can look below under the 'For Pilots' and 'For Game Masters' sections to get a tutorial on how to use the table itself!

~Miniatures for all first-party NPCs and player mechs, as well as many second-party and custom mechs
~Tokens for all effects and deployable
~Customizeable standee models for adding your own custom mechs
~Personal references for rules
~Fancy dice if you want to roll on the table itself
~A quick reference for mech-combat designed to help you hit the ground running

And as of the Massif update...

+A new map loading system that is easier to use and much more functional
+New 3d maps to battle across
+A down-time stage listing listing available downtime actions by expansion
+Flying bases
+Invisibility, lighting, and weather modifiers
+Holographic Objective markers
+GM toys and tools

Pilotside, this experience is designed to be as smooth as possible. This table is built with the expectation of being paired with the Comp/Con digital tool, so your first step should be to go to https://compcon.app/#/ and build a character. Comp/Con is setup so that you can build a character from scratch before reading the rules in depth, so it is a great place to start exploring Lancer journey if you aren't ready to dive into that nice thicc book quite yet. Once you have your character set up on Comp/Con there's only a few steps to get you set up for TTS!

To get locked and loaded:
~Open up your pilot sheet on Comp/Con, either on a side monitor or other window that you can tab to easily. You can find it at https://compcon.app/#/
~Use one of the pre-built standees or flats provided, or make a custom one.
~~To make a custom image for your mech, go to https://www.retrogrademinis.com or make your own mech art
~~Edit the texutre on one of the minis to replace the existing mech with your own.
~That's it! You are ready to rock and roll!

While you are playing, remember that you also have access to loads of nifty play aids!
~Check the drawer in front of your seat for a combat quick-reference, a pdf of the full mech-combat section for easy reference, and a dice set.
~If you are unsure what all the actions are and want to see them at a glance you can also check the reference cards at the end of the table, which show the quick descriptions of actions and the full rules text when you mouse over them. They are also sorted by how often you are likely to use each action so you can find your basic actions at a glance!

For GMs, this table will involve a bit more setup.

To set up an encounter for your players using the Stage tool:
~Find a map among the Custom Maps box in the top right part of the GM's section
~Drop that map onto the "Drop Bags Here" hex of the Stage token
~Drag and drop the NPC models from the bottom left onto the board

To make custom NPCs, follow the steps above for modifying miniatures!

You can also search the Workshop for Battletech or Lancer maps and additive-load them onto the table.

Additionally, a 3D lancer map-making mod is coming soon, so be on the lookout!

change your color to game master, (the black one) it will become visible.

When I launch the game, the table loads, but there is a grey box over the GM part of the table. Any idea how to fix it? When I retract the pull out part of the table, everything falls to the void, so I know it's there, I just can't interact with it. I have a picture if you want it.

If you get SSL connection errors (As I did) the only solution in my experience is to use a VPN (I personally use Mullvad VPN).
Make sure you disable split tunneling on Steam and have it all go through the VPN tunnel.

I'm getting SSL connection errors on almost all of the assets hosted on file.garden, I think, from the little panels explaining actions to the assets for the NPC tokens.

what happened to the uh, tokens with the manufacturer pictures as their bases? They seem to be gone... its not that bad, but its a bit of a shame as the flat minis don't have the.. verticality of the 3d-2d ones

Ah, sorry about that, that's a problem with the Stage plugin which I'm not sure how to fix, but I'll try to look into it again when I get the chance! Sorry about that!

As a temporary solution I just removed the line for the "The Current Set is Busy" response. It worked XD

After I deploy any map, an error occures and no matter what I press on stage tool it tells me "The Current Set is Busy". Reloading the table fixes it for one time then it happens again. Any help?

@Bluestone your friend can try loading it with a vpn on, thats what fixed it for me

@Bluestone sounds like it might be an issue on Tabletop Simulator's side. They might try uninstalling and reinstalling the mod itself and/or tabletop sim, or toggling "mod threading" on or off in the options menu.
