Description
This map is based on the original D-day npc map, and you should check that out instead if you...
  • Are having performance issues
  • Do not need/want pre-placed spawners
  • Don't have Counter-Strike: Source purchased, installed, and mounted (there are a handful of CS:S models and textures used, like the skybox and interior of the fortress)
  • Are experiencing an issue that is not present on the original map

I absolutely LOVE this map, I may have spent multiple days on the original, simply spawning as many NPCs my old computer could handle, and cramming the boats as fully as possible.
I added spawns for both Combine and Rebel NPCs both in the fortress and the boats that can be accessed on what I'll call the "admin platform" (visible in the screenshots). Upon pressing one of the 4 spawn buttons, a NPC of the type you chose will spawn with a (semi-)random weapon. There is also the ability to auto-resend boats if all the NPCs that spawned on the boat have died, so you can have a constant front-line until the fortress is taken over by whatever faction you chose.

To spawn NPCs in boats, the boats need to be reset if they have been sent before. NPCs will always spawn in the fortress when you press the button, as long as there isn't something blocking their spawn.

Along with the added spawns, there are now cubemaps throughout the map (so that shiny things can be shiny), some more nodegraph nodes for better movement, somewhat extended playable area, very minor graphical tweaks, and troublesome doors now have no collision, so NPCs will no longer get stuck on them. Additionally, some of the packed in models and materials of the original map are now within the addon instead of the map, so models that were missing or were ERRORs before might show up now.

You're not obligated to use the new spawners, they were provided for a somewhat curated experience and can be completely ignored (in which case you could use the OG map)

This map will be in the "Sandbox" map category by default.

I should probably warn that with all boats and the fortress filled, your performance will very likely drop, as NPC interactions are very CPU intensive.

You can have much finer controls using console commands, which I will elaborate on in the pinned discussion.

In regards to performance issues, this map can run on a early 2011 MacBook Pro at 100 fps at max settings (minus AA) with nothing spawned. Please, before reporting that there are performance issues, disable all other addons and test again, I cannot reproduce any performance issues on my various computers.
