How to launch without 2k launcher!
By Shnepy
I've seen a lot of reviews / comments about people not being able to launch the game or only launch it with certain DLCs or Mods, this is just an 'easy' fix that worked for me to just skip the launcher all together, Hope it helps!

Walkthrough
Step 1 - Locate where your game application is installed, for me this was under the standard steamapps - common - CIV.

Step 2 - From there go into - Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam. Depending on whether you use DX12 or not make sure you know which one you want to launch with.

Step 3 - Get the file path through to the application and copy it. For me this was as follows - D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam\CivilizationVI_DX12.exe

Step 4 - Go to your steam library and open your launch options for CIV. ( right click - properties on CIV )

Step 5 - Take your file path and paste here like this "-filepath-" adding %command% on the end.

So it should then look like this - "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam\CivilizationVI_DX12.exe" %command%

Note: If you know you've used the DX11 launch option or having crashes ingame using the \CivilizationVI_DX12.exe" %command%, please try the \CivilizationVI.exe" %command% instead, to launch the game with DX11.

Click Ok and launch the game, it should skip the 2k launcher all together and just go straight into the game fixing any issues i had with the launcher in the process.

I am assuming this is a universal option that should work for everyone, hopefully it gets rid of any issues you've had with the new 2k Launcher.

:)))
Update :)
As per the comments, this is an easier way to find your install folder.

Quick way to find install folder through steam:
Steam>Library> Left click game in list on left side so it's selected.
Right click>Manage>Browse local files
This opens install directory on PC.

Thanks @div1

All they need to do is read the Civ V forums. It's pretty amazing just how many are "getting my fix playing Civ V until Humankind comes out." If that game fixes the multiplayer issues that their previous "Endless" games seem to have, they may have the game that will replace Sid Meiers Civ.

Thank you! Thank you! That extra launcher was so annoying.

Thank you so much! I contacted 2K about the launcher not working and they told me how to fix it. They told me to find the "t2gp" folder and delete everything in it and start the game, but there was no t2gp folder. I told them there was no t2gp folder and then they told me the devs "got my back".

I tried this and this seemed to work perfectly for me. The folder is in there, just look for that "t2gp" keyword in there.

The binary address must be inside "quotes" otherwise the spaces in the folder names will interfere.

CivilizationVI_DX11.exe" %command% is incorrect for dx11 should be CivilizationVI.exe" %command%

this didn't work for me. It just pauses for ages and occasionally I get the page where I can then select the DX11 or DX12. Hope they sort this it's terrible they never tested it!
